I usually don’t review places, but after experiencing what my colleagues and I experienced, I felt compelled to. My colleagues and I decided to have our work Christmas party at this place and after what we experienced, we had deep regrets. For starters, I have never once experienced how RUDE the waitess’ were. She told us to hurry up and order our drinks because we were making her “Nervous” second to that, none of them even cracked a smile. They seemed annoyed that they were there and made rude comments to my other co-workers. The food was tasteless, bland and boring. They gave us a set menu of $58 which I believe was labeled “The Corp. 2” we had choices of chicken, salmon, steak and pasta. Nobody ordered the chicken. Most order the steak and salmon and few order the pasta. I had the steak; juicy, but no flavour. Vegetables tastes like they were frozen. The pasta looked disgusting, and you yourself could be probably whip up something better up at home. As for the fish, I heard it was good, but all of us complained our food was cold. We were a party of less than 20. We paid $58 plus taxes/ person for food that should’ve been no more than $20 bucks. I will never go to this place again after encountering what I did. Nobody should be treated terribly after spending an astronomical amount of money for low quality food. It is not in my character to leave reviews that will have a negative impact, but as someone who works in customer service, I felt it was appropriate. As a fine dining restaurant with advance notice that you will be having a larger group, you should consider enforcing...
Read moreWas looking for a nice place for my husband and I to celebrate Valentine's on Tuesday evening as we were both working late Monday. Tuesday afternoon I called and the gentleman over the phone swiftly accommodated my last minute reservation. Elias took excellent care of us, he was both personable and professional. He also made a fantastic table-side caesar salad...it was absolutely outstanding, definitely recommend. We shared the Chateaubriand, which is finished and sliced table-side. Elias and the manager (or owner?) accommodated our request for different temperatures on each half and did fantastic ensuring we each received what we wanted. The tenderloin itself was incredible. Melt in your mouth, served with delicious grilled veggies. The ambiance is outstanding, definitely a place to return for a nice evening out. Slice of cake was just the chef's kiss perfect way to end the meal! Thank you so much to the manager/owner for ensuring we had a great evening, and to Elias for expediting the experience. We will definitely be returning. (Side note to people complaining its pricey..the prices are actually great considering you're receiving fresh food, with a top-notch experience, in a one-of-a-kind venue with service that is actually professional. If you're complaining about prices then you might just not understand, or dine much and maybe better off at a chain steakhouse where you can complain all you want about the terrible food quality) The School Fine Dining is well worth the price...
Read moreHonestly, I was very underwhelmed with this restaurant. I organized my company's Christmas luncheon here. We did a prix fixe menu and maybe that's where the problem lies. Upon reading other reviewers, it looks like ordering off the menu was much better.
There is no cocktail menu. The wait staff didn't offer any verbal cocktails made in-house and asked us what we wanted. We would order and then he would come back (about 4 times) saying they didn't have what we asked for. It would've been helpful to have a small menu to order from rather than being disappointed.
Now for the meal: The salad wasn't dressed well and was quite bland - more oil than balsamic. The soup was barely warm. The entrees were ok but nothing special - they came with mashed potatoes and mixed steam veggies. The dessert was just brought out and given to everyone. We didn't know what it was until it was in front of us. It was a vanilla ice cream with something similar to maraschino cherries in a syrup on it. It was not enjoyable for most of our staff. Coffee was automatically assumed to be the hot drink of choice after our meal. We weren't asked if we preferred tea until we stopped the waiter from pouring coffee for everyone.
Pretty disappointed at the overall meal and the service. I appreciate that the waiter tried his best but he seemed overwhelmed.
I wouldn't...
