Updated photos May 27, 2024 on how to find this place. Updated filling pictures and crust. First photo with one bite is microwaved for 1 min from unfrozen. Last picture is 2 minutes from frozen. In between photos are oven baked, as you can see a little more brown. You must drive down that back parkway and it’s right there in the back corner of this plaza, check photos. Hours are Mon - Fri / 9am to 4pm. Open sign isn’t on but they are open. These are the best, hands down No question for frozen Pattie’s. It’s a factory and I don’t remember if you can buy them hot. I always got them frozen since I live far away. Cash only. I haven’t been in a while since it’s far from me but any time I go to the area I buy boxes/stock up. The crust is super super flaky and soft when you heat it up right. It also stays flaky when you microwave it and still tastes great! The filling is right to the edge of the crust and they are generous with the filling. The filling is by far the best I’ve had in terms of taste, quality and quantity for frozen. I always get the spicy ones. Chicken ones are good as well but Beef Spicy(not that spicy) is crazy good. They do have vegetarian and mild beef but never tried them lol as spicy beef is my go to. They are probably just as good in a different way. They Sometimes I will microwave it for 30 seconds to heat up the filling then throw it in the air fryer for ten minutes. Temperature cook will vary so you got to figure out your “sweet spot” on how to make them. Generally 300 degrees for 20-30 minutes with a mini oven is the best as it stays soft/crispy/flaky. Poke small holes to test if filling is soft. I always cook them upside down since it’s easier to poke the filling to test. I see people complaining about the service but I never had an issue here. It’s pretty simple. Ring the bell, tell the lady what you want, pay cash and leave lol. It’s not a restaurant. Just a small hole in the wall with their production factory behind it. Easily 5/5 no competition. I never buy patties elsewhere unless I’m craving it big time because I always say it’s not as good as here. Consistency in every bite is what wins here. Also consistency in filling size has not changed over the many years. Had it few weeks ago as sister got me some but forgot to take pictures. Been coming here for many many years, can’t remember how long. If you get the time to make it there, you won’t be disappointed after you figure out how to heat them up.

HOW TO ORDER? This is as fresh as it gets. This is where Michidean Patties are made and packaged before it hits the groceries. There is no customer service people here, only employees working part of the assembly process. When you enter, you will see the employees working hard in the background. RING THAT BELL. Be patience and breath in the aroma of freshly baked patties. Many employees will come and tell you someone will be coming shortly. Once the lady appears, tell her what you want. The prices are located to the left of the order taking window. She will tell you how much you owe. Then she will go to the back and grab your order. They only accept CASH. Bring your own shopping bags. Check what you got is what you ordered. That’s it. Painless. They are only open Monday to Friday during business hours. They are hard to find because they are located at the North East Corner of the building. Chicken, beef, vegetarian patties are what they sell. They also sell seconds. No public washroom to use. Not mobility nor accessibility friendly. You come here for the patties and nothing else. During my visit, there was a steady flow of customers. Cars are coming in and out, so be cautious when parking as they are located right at the corner.

The best Jamaican beef patties I’ve ever had. Michidean is the gold standard and it is perfection. The patty itself smells like a Chinese / Hong Kong bakery (and it apparently tastes like the Jamaican beef patties sold in Hong Kong too). It’s so nice and flaky like the flakiness of egg tarts. I’m not sure if they used pork lard or shortening or tallow, but the shell is so good and fragrant. Beef to crust ratio was perfect, beef seasoning was perfect, the level of spiciness was also perfect. This would be the only patty I purchase from now on. Absolute perfection. The only downside to this is that Michidean only opens 9AM-4PM on weekdays, so you’d have to take a day off work to purchase a box. Each box is $20 for a dozen fresh patties, and it comes in chicken, vegetable, beef and spicy beef. I only get the spicy beef. The location itself is a factory and you ring the bell in front of the little window inside to get your boxes. Cash only.

I have been to a few different places. I have read many reviews. There is consistency among the reviews of this place. First, this Factory Baking Patty Machine, with lousy hours of operation, no decent customer service and support, updated times for ours of operation and simple dialogue/feedback on peoples / customers concerns, well, this is unacceptable. And I don't know why people would support such arrogance. You sell FROZEN PATTIES ONLY, no telling how long they have been sitting in your FROZEN warehouse. And you have the nerve to charge $18.00 a box.. I drove to this place thinking that by going to the 'baking depot', I would get the option for fresh and at a better price. Nope, just your overpriced lousy FROZEN selection. While people say they taste great. I would tend to agree that they have a unique flavor. However, people who complain about the shell, well, what do you expect from FROZEN people, c'mon man, Really!!

Listen, there are several choices for GOOD PATTIES around the GTA. too many to name. But I will throw one in the basket for you to try, 3 locations, one of the locations is @ 600 Denison Road. Try it, people, good Patty, good hours, good service, walk-in customers welcome, a variety to choose from. And most of all, some friendly people to deal with.

Michidean, you need to pay a visit to the other businesses within your company type and use them as a benchmark to excel for this customer to return.

Let me know when improvements have been made, and I...
