Woodbine Diner — Restaurant in Markham

I came here on a Saturday morning before 9am with my toddler. First off, the service was great. We were greeted with a kind smile and she made the effort to try to engage with my often shy toddler and even got a smile out of him. There wasn’t a kids breakfast menu, so I ordered the regular sized chocolate chip pancakes for him. She was kind enough to warn me it came with 3 large pancakes (plus either bacon/sausage/han) and might be too much for him. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast which came with 2 eggs any style, sausage or bacon or ham (I got the sausage), home fries and toast. I was impressed by how fast it came out and also the size of the sausages. They were bigger than the average dinky breakfast sausages one often gets. The potatoes were crispy and well seasoned. My husband ended up joining us later and she was kind enough to watch out for him to get his breakfast going rather than let the eggs go cold. She brought him his coffee right away when he sat down also. They haven’t been open long and I hope they’re here to stay for a while. A solid small diner that I would return to. Went for breakfast on the Saturday before Father’s Day. Food and portion size was okay, meat lacked a bit of flavour as it was overcooked but potatoes were cooked well.

Had a free coffee with breakfast purchase for Father’s Day so we stayed. Seems this was limited to one refill which was disappointing as bottomless coffee is generally a staple for breakfast. I learned this as I had to pay for my refill. Would recommend anyone check in on coffee limits first as I am not sure if this is the case regularly.

Overall the meal was expensive for the quality and Eggsmart or Sunset Grill offer better options and food for the price. Would not recommend unless you are in a hurry or cant...

I stopped by Woodbine Diner on a quiet Saturday morning, and it felt like stepping into a little pocket of comfort. The place has that classic diner charm.

Service was warm and down-to-earth. Our server, Sumali, was quick with a smile and even quicker with the service. I ordered the veal sandwich with home fries. Everything was cooked just right — veal is crispy on the outside and tender inside, and those fries? Golden and seasoned perfectly.

Definitely a spot I’d return to whenever...
