KFC — Restaurant in Martensville

I never write reviews cuz it sounds too tedious— giving star reviews yes but writing them is rare.

Food: Food was good. Looked to be short staffed so I don’t blame them if the flood suffered but tbh it was pretty good. The people in the kitchen were getting orders out pretty fast and the food was still warm and good when we got it.

The service + atmosphere was lowkey just a joke though. I wish I was exaggerating but we seen groups of people walk in then walk immediately out.

Service:

We were going in for a quick bite then bounce— but then thought why not go in for a minute not like we’re in a rush plus it’s a long drive.

Girl working the counter was young so I assumed she was just learning. (Most of my friends work in restaurants or retail so I’m pro-be nice to your server)

Though after walking out ourselves to eat our food in our car,(that we specifically ordered to stay in with after the the cashier asked us to) we seen at at-least 9 groups walk in and immediately walk out. Some laughing, some grimacing. I’m starting to think it was weaponized incompetence.

Cashier girl seemed nice when we ordered but when I asked for napkins she poorly hid a really annoyed look and kept giving me and my mom nasty looks when she thought I wasn’t looking. Or rolling her eyes.

I was trying to be nice and give her the benefit of the doubt but she just made us feel super unwelcome and poorly hid her annoyance or going out of her way to do other things when we just wanted help. The other group in there with us was laughing at the ridiculousness of it too when we looked at eachother.

Atmosphere: If it was clean I would’ve said it was decent.

However a lot of the machines in the building seemed to be just installed were either just out of service. Open cords/lines in reach and packaging stuff all over. That was no big deal though.

What was a big deal that every single table in there was dirty as HELLLL. Like not even a clean wipe with your arm dirty— there were sticky juice stains and big pieces of food everywhere.

We tried to find another table to sit at but it felt like every one we tried to go to got worse. But I was thinking “probably a long day it’s not that bad”

So I went up to the counter and asked for wipes or napkins so I could clean a table for myself and my mom. Cashier was like “oh it’s okay I can do it” and insisted on it despite my offers so I relented.

Tell me why she goes and tries to clean every other table but the one we wanted (that we both gestured to). She took her time doing tiny circular wipes on a tiny 2 seater table. Then went to go wipe a bigger table but got tired after wiping a corner— then pretended to wipe the rest in two big swipes that just smeared more streak in the juice stains.

My mom was getting impatient so I just asked if I could get a napkin and clean it myself— she tried to give me the one she just tossed in the trash but I ask for a new one. Then when she comes back she throws a dry wipe on the counter then goes and hides in the back. And we could tell it was hiding because someone else had to come deliver the food and do the cashier instead.

And now we’re sitting outside in our truck eating. We seen some groups go in, laugh, then leave lol. Even the other table we were with was laughing.

Unfortunately this kfc seems to be a let-down every time I go? My Pepsi was room temperature and tastes very watered down.. my zinger box came with old cold fries, and an extremely old tasting chewy, hard piece of chicken.. the bun was yummy, and the popcorn chicken was decent (maybe a little cold). I'd have to say this is the worst trip to kfc I've ever made.. normally it's only old fries that's the problem at this location, but this time it was the entire meal. Its dinner time! Shouldnt that be peak timing for freshly made food? 100% will not go to this location ever again, as NOT ONCE have i got a single meal that included all freshly made chicken or fries. They even tried to charge me x2 the price for wings once.. I changed my mind and ended up getting my boyfriend to go in and get wings later on that evening, and he got 20 (they were only going to give me 10 for the same price no matter what i told the man worming....)

This place is a disaster, they need somebody who knows how to make fresh food for people to run it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE. you WILL be...

Buyer beware. Bad experience all around. Minimal effort from staff/manager. Would give it a 0/5 if I could.

We ordered through the drive through, the person working the drive through (later found out that this was the manager) was rude and unfriendly while taking the order. After paying they asked us to wait in the parking lot which we did. After nearly a half hour passed I asked one of the KFC workers if she had any idea what had happened to our order. We were told that the equipment that is used to make a chicken sandwich (whatever that may be) was broken down and that we would have to reorder. At this point I was pretty much over it, asked for a full refund which they would only give me in cash, which is sketchy at the best of times during COVID. Won't be going back

TL;DR - Quicker to drive to Kentucky for chicken than getting it from here. -Didn't actually get any...
