Donair Tower — Restaurant in McBride Sapperton

Worst 'Donair Town' franchise in the city! Trust me, if you value your money; skip this 'Donair Town' at New West & go to any of the other ones in the city. They are all great and provide exceptional service, except for this New West location. This branch used to be great when it was run by a young couple and their family, sweetest people on earth. However, the management changed and it is a completely different and horrible experience. Food portions have shrunk down to an unacceptable amount. They are really cheap about Veggies and Sauce. They are so stingy about ingredients that they will literally slap on additional charges for two extra slices of cucumber. This place gives a bad rep to all Mediterranean eateries with their exceptionally horrible business model of ripping people off. If you have been to this place and hated their service so much that you now get generally turned off by Mediterranean food places; I promise you that this is the only Mediterranean restaurant in the whole city that will rip you off to this extreme. This little place is awesome! They have Halifax style donairs which are so good. They also have really nice baklavas which are not too sweet like most shop's sell. The people running the restaurant are really friendly and product freshness is really on top. They have a deep fryer for their special fries that they make and fresh falafels. Which brings me to the one negative point about this place. Because they have the deep fryer the place reeks of cooking oil so even after only spending five minutes in the shop you come out and your clothes stink like fried oil. my suggestion is because it doesn't seem like it was on, is to make sure the exhaust fan is running so that the air in the restaurant is clean and not so oily smelling. It actually made me feel less hungry after breathing in the air waiting in line. In my opinion it's the only thing they need to fix here and perhaps maybe opening a store in Surrey in the Guilford area because we have no decent donair shops anywhere...

I needed a quick lunch and this one came up on my gps on route to my next stop. It made sense as they had a great rating. When I entered there no acknowledgment from the two staff which was odd but there was one customer waiting for his food to heat up. The man then asked what I wanted, I ordered a super beef no tomato please. He starts prepping then says that’s a regular chicken right? Oh no sorry a super beef just no tomato please. He passes it off to the lady who finishes it off. Get outside to enjoy my feast and found very little meat, which concerns me what a regular size would be. It was very dry and the least flavourful donair I have had in the lower mainland (see other reviews I love donairs) and loaded with tomato. It was so bad I don’t think I would give it a second shot which is too bad as they had great reviews from others. I’m hoping it was...
