Yum Gourmet Donuts — Restaurant in British Columbia

Back in 2020, when everything was locked down and no one was going anywhere, I stumbled across a Facebook post about locally made donuts. That was my first introduction to YUM! Donuts—and to Kim and John.

At a time when there wasn’t much to look forward to, picking up homemade donuts felt like a little luxury. Every other week became a delicious experiment, trying new flavors and indulging in something special.

So when I heard that Kim and John were opening their own storefront in New Westminster just a few months later, I couldn’t have been happier for them!

I cannot say enough good things about YUM! Donuts. Their ever-changing lineup of flavors keeps things exciting, and I love that they’re not overly sweet—the dough is always light and fluffy. Even my husband (who’s not a sweets person) looks forward to these.

As I write this in April 2025, last week’s picks were: Coffee Toffee, Crème Brûlée, Fruity Pebbles, Blueberry Coffee Cake, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Maple Cream Éclair. Please don’t ask me to pick a favorite—I just can’t!

Nowadays, as I work with Realtors, I often pop into YUM! Donuts on possession days to surprise clients with a sweet treat for their move. Watching their eyes light up at the sight of fresh donuts is always a highlight.

I saw this place in Sapperton New Westminster called Yum Gourmet Doughnuts. I must have drove past many times before but I finally stopped. Man am I ever glad I did. I went in and was immediately met with a big welcome from the owners. They explained their story on how they opened this amazing little gem. The doughnuts are over the moon good. I mean crazy good. I picked some up for my clients and family. They all asked where I got these awesome doughnuts from. I explained I found a hidden gem called Yum Gourmet Doughnuts. If you have not been to Yum, well you need to do yourself a favour and do so. You won’t be disappointed. I have sent many friends to Yum and they always say the same thing. Amazing! The owners are super friendly down to earth people who take a lot of pride in what they do. Do yourself a favour and take the family or pick some up for yourself. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
