Thoughtful staff / Warm Atmosphere / Great Food I was just passing through and lucked into McGinty's Cafe. It's one of those small town cafe's that really cares about their customers, is always on the look-out to make your experience better, and just...has that "wow," factor I'm always looking for.
Customer Service - Amazing! The best part. I didn't even ask for the WIFI password before a staff member, who was already hard at work, came by and gave me a copy of it. Everyone is friendly and they make sure to greet you and make you feel at home.
Wifi speed - pretty good: 400 download, only 10-15 upload. So if you're doing some footage in the area, upload won't be super fast, but if you need to do regular internet, it's fantastic!
Food & Drink - Excellent! Nothing else to say. Oh, but the coffee does come in many forms. There are even two flavours behind the many other options of roasts.
Do the locals eat here? - YES. That's 100%. It's a good sign for many reasons if the locals come here. Many come by after their morning walk by the waterfront. By the way. This small town is beautiful.
Washrooms - This is where they almost lost half a star, but I decided not to do it. The washroom was clean enough, but no one has cleaned the mirrors in quite a long time. Given all the other factors, however, it's not a turn off enough to lose any star power.
Conclusion: This is a perfect, go-to spot when stopping by or...

I dare say a level akin to a favorite my Grandma would craft. The all mighty and aptly named, "Granma Sammiches." One might at first think usurped, but nay, tis impossible such an event take place in this world. Never the less, today, after holding strong for as long as I can remember a time honored 2nd has given way to 3rd. As I savored my last bite with love and health in mind, I crumpled the wrapper and stood. Feeling nourished and hunger satisfied I walked down the sunny streets of Meaford, Ontario pondering the mastery of delicate but hearty sandwiches made through the ages. As long as humans have been putting food between two delicious and nutritious slices of bread such as this, the pinnacle of "less is more" has been sought after. Today I discovered that most sacred and rarely mastered of states achieved. Today the world put up a worthy adversary. Today I visited McGinty's Café and to the hearts and hands that work there I say, well done and I'll be back for more.

Read moreDine in or take out. Great spot to stop for a good cup of java (including the list of lattes, cappuccinos, etc) as they serve at the front as well as at the coffee bar located at the back of the restaurant. Unfortunately no smoothies on the menu - sad. Food is always good and they will gladly split the order if you want to share with your companion. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. DRAWBACK - they only have a basement washroom which limits individuals with mobility restrictions who need to use the facilities. When I come here with my elderly friend, we stop in at Tim Horton's or the nearby gas station for her needs then head over to McGinty's for lunch. PERK - They also sell some fun stuff (mugs, travellers, etc) including a variety of humorous cards for a variety of occasions. In fact, one of the employees is the creator of these paper folds so if you're looking for something in particular and plan on stopping in again, ask her (if she's working) if she could have one printed and available for your return...
