My mom had left a review about how we waited nearly 2 hours and you responded with âthe longest bill time was 1 hour and 25 minutes due to TWO pre-order of FIFTY plates in one hourâ. First of all, what restaurant takes two large groups within an hour of each other and allows them to pre-order and show up to being served? Reservations are absolutely common, but on a Friday night you allow a plate of 50 and expect the rest of your tables to wait an hour and 25 minutes? Thatâs absolutely bananas in my opinion. We arrived at 5:20, and were told AFTER we ordered that it would be about 20 minutes âlonger than normalâ. The first large group arrived about 15 minutes after we were seated, and they were served probably about 15 minutes after. Not to mention, I probably seen Skip the Dishes come and go about half a dozen times while we waited. That group of hockey players came, ate, and left all while we waited for food at a table of three. We asked our waitress around 630 how much longer and she said about 15 minutes. When another large group arrived at around 6:45 and started getting meals by 7:00, thatâs when we had enough. We had been there for just over an hour and a half, there were at least half a dozen tables around us still waiting for food, and we were over it. So you claim the longest bill was an hour and 25 minutes? Well we waited over an hour and a half before we finally left. I truly like coming to you guys and I probably will in the future, but being honest about having 50 plates being prepared in the next hour will put you guys behind that amount of time would have been something you could have told us so we didnât waste our time waiting for food and could have had the opportunity to go somewhere else. And yes, the waitressâs attitude was not pleasant, obviously not her fault about the wait but how she spoke to my mom was quite rude. Being transparent to your customers when you know you have two large, pre-order tables still waiting to arrive would be a better solution next time, or maybe only allowing one large group to pre-order on a busy night like a Friday. Youâll lose more business by making people wait than if you tell a large group no, you cannot pre order but you can make reservations. Your food is always great, as well as the service, but last night was not a great experience...
Read moreUnfortunately I have to give Browns two out of five stars today after last nightâs fiasco the restaurant lighting is so dim you can barely read the menu and I assume so that you canât look at what your food really looks, like french fries not cooked all the way and White rice should not have brown on it. This restaurant in Medicine Hat is continuously running out of food whether itâs roast beef for the beef dip or last night there was no steaks, no Caesar salad which we were informed of when we were ready to order, not before, poor training for the staff on this point and no green chutney for the curry plate which they didnât tell us until until we receive the two curry plates. I have a gluten allergy and love the gf options this chain has to offer and we order once a week usually takeout and oh yes last month we were told we couldnât order a takeout because they had a lineup out the door and told to call back in an hour or so, this was at 6:30 on a Friday night. I think we shouldâve had the option to order and then say itâs gonna be an hour and a half or so to pick up and I wouldâve been fine with that. We have been to Browns Restaurantâs in Calgary, Moose Jaw and Regina(2) as well, with only one issue. Iâm afraid Medicine Hat has to go at the bottom of the list and I am looking for other restaurants here that have gluten-free options. To be fair they did delete the two curry dishes off the bill but I did not eat mine because it didnât have the chutney so I went home hungry and they gave 20% off the hamburger plates for the fries not cooked, still ruined our meal no matter what you took...
Read moreMy husband and I came through on a Tuesday there was two other tables and then there was some training happening at the bar . It took a few mins for us to be seated . When we were seated by the waitress we sat and waited 15 to 20 mins for her to come back and take our drink order . We watched as she went back and fourth to the other tables at least two times each and then went and stood at the bar to have a bit of a drink and chat with the trainees before she came over . She apologized to us saying how she was out of sorts because of the training happening. She returned about 5 to 10 mins later with our drinks and let us know she had taken our drinks off the bill which was nice . By the time we got our food the other tables were gone and about half way through our meal the training was done and we were the only ones there . She never came back over to see how everything was tasting when we were finished our meal she came back to see if we wanted more to drink after she delivered new drinks we sat there for about 10 mins then she asked if we wanted dessert we asked for the bill not dessert after a few mins she brought that and then a few mins after that she comes with the machine she apologized again for taking so long and reminded us that she took the pop off the bill . When we went to leave and say goodbye we got a goodbye but there was no smile no warmth. The food was ok . I have had Browns before and loved it so this was a very disappointing trip . I will never be recommend anyone to eat at this location ! I have never had such terrible service anywhere...
