Buffet Medicine Hat — Restaurant in Medicine Hat

The food is great but customer service is bad. They seated us near very noisy people. We ended up asking to move. Again not their fault. But we had came in at 8pm for supper from out of town and hour away and they don't close till 9:30pm yet they started cleaning house like there were no customers(we were not the only ones there when they started cleaning other tables were giving them dirty looks too). But they used such strong cleaners that it wafted through the whole restaurant. It was so bad me and my little 5yr old went into an asthma attack. And my 8yr old said mom if I keep trying to eat with that smell I am going to throw up. So I didn't even get to eat half a plate of food. My kids barely ate and we still ended up paying full price and having to leave. When we told the server she was very apologetic. But when we told the older guy I think is the owner. He snapped and said well if you come after seven that's when we clean. LIKE WHAT?? SO PAY 20 A PLATE and don't worry for free you can get cleaner smells that make you sick and dizzy for supper. Perfect thanks. Who cleans their restaurant with strong cleaners at supper time that is for after closing. I have worked many closing shifts in my lifetime anf you spray down the tables but you don't do a full deep clean till after the customers are gone. Nobody wants a side of ammonia with that K. Jeez. 0 stars good food is nothing if you are eating in a horrible...

Whenever we do go out for a meal this is the place we always go to as hubby likes western and I like Chinese and they offer both food is awesome yes I have tasted better but theirs is pretty good all in all the management is super friendly and have not met a bad waitress they have all been super friendly and pleasant to deal with the interior has all been redone and it is super clean and very appealing to the eye I have eaten at other places and the service sucks to say the least they sit you down and then forget about you but not here they are always taking care of your needs if you want a fresh plate all you have to do us get up and get one the waitress will take you old one away I noted the same person mentioned about them adding new food to the old first of all the old is probably only an hour old and would you rather they throw it out? That is totally wasteful and you cannot tell the difference at all they make sure all pans are kept stocked up and not left empty It is a great place to eat and the prices are comparable to other places for the amount of food they offer and definitely worth it I would recommend this place to anyone who likes both...

I find it really hard to believe there are 5 star reviews on this place.

Looks like it has been renovated very nice. Very clean and fresh looking. I would rather sit in a dump that has good food than go to a place that has food like this and "looks" good.

I had buffet, walking in at 7:15pm. Everything seemed to be soggy. The buffet area felt more like a sauna. Water was dripping from the ceiling and from the sneeze guards onto my plate....thats how humid it was.

As for the food, I did find the wonton soup ok. The wings had a good garlic flavor. The vegetables were ok. All of the breaded options were absolutely horrible. The rice was sub-par, the sauces were lacking flavor. I didn't bother with the pasta, or turkey. I'm sure the ice cream is ok but I lost my appetite after trying the majority of the chinese options.

To top it off, the price was $18.89. Sorry Medicine Hat but this place has nothing for me to come back for. Service was good I guess. Water was full for as long as I was there.
