Sushi Miso — Restaurant in Medicine Hat

Edit: my feelings on this place haven't changed. I've since moved to Lethbridge and am sooooo bummed it was at the start of the pandemic when I moved as this place was closed. I've only been to Medicine Hat twice since then for appointments and it's been closed each time. Really sad since I've never had better sushi anywhere. They put raw tuna on the inside of their rainbow roll instead of imitation crab (which is what most places add) and their smoked salmon is seriously the best. I've never had it near as good anywhere else. Their Philadelphia roll (smoked salmon and cream cheese) is really really good. There's only one place in Lethbridge that even comes close to this place but this one is still the best. I would deliberately plan a trip to Medicine Hat specifically for this place if I could (just waiting for this pandemic to be done). I HIGHLY recommend this place. The owner even knows my name and greets me by it whenever I've come in to pick up food. Awesome food and owners. I hope everyone supports local and purchases their amazing sushi especially during this pandemic. You're so lucky if you live in Medicine Hat!

Old review: Love it!! Amazing sushi and quick/very good service. My favorite is the rainbow roll. I've tried it at various other sushi restaurants and this is by far my favorite rainbow roll!! I also loved the smoked salmon sushi. They always give nice big pieces on the rice. The dumplings, yakitori, and deep fried squid is also amazing. Definitely recommend...

The first and best sushi restraunt in Medicine Hat. I've been eating here since it first opened and it has always been consistently exceptional. With large filling portions (no need for skimpy thin cuts like at the "all you can eat restaurants", when the servings here are double the size for a good price and way better quality), large beautiful seafood (real crab meat! need I say more?), eye catching presentation, great pickled ginger, and well made rice (very important). I always feel satisfied, full and happy when I've finished eating at Sushi Miso. The best Dynamite Rolls I've ever had are buttery and euphoric, and are a must for every order. If you eat in, the green tea is always hot and flowing. I cannot say enough good things about their food. The only improvements that could be made are the limited hours (opens at 3pm so no lunch, and closed on Mondays), and better ways to order (such as in-store delivery, or Skip the Dishes), because the phone only takes 1 call at a time with no holds so you have to keep on calling if it is busy (Please Take My Money Sushi Miso!!!). However, it is worth the wait. I have traveled to Japan, and this Sushi is the closest I've tasted to the real experience. For Medicine Hat that is amazing, which in my opinion makes this the best food in the city. So please stay open forever! :)

P. S. Also the only place to get good Sunimono, every other sushi place in the city either doesn't offer it or it...

Found this little place as we were looking for something not too heavy to eat. The exterior is very unassuming but don't let that fool you. The interior is quite pleasant with a good ambiance. The service was prompt, friendly, and very welcoming. The menu was the right size. This is very much a sushi restaurant, which is great. The pricing is pretty good for Alberta Sushi. We shared the Love Dinner and Edamame. The pieces of seafood we got were a very good size and very fresh tasting. The rolls were quite tasty, and the wasabi has got the perfect amount of bite. Even the ginger was great. Plus, unlimited Japanese tea for 1$/person. We were thrilled with this place and next time we are in Medicine Hat, we will absolutely come back.
