We have not been impressed with Travois Brewery as of late. I made a reservation for a birthday and the server put me in the calendar. This same server called me two days later and cancelled because the owner's friend had booked a private birthday before hand, but it was not in Travois' calendar.
On another occasion, we tried to submit a team for the recent round of trivia night. We called the week before trivia started and the server stated there was no set start dates yet. Also, she did not take our names or phone numbers to put on a waitlist. The next week we called again, the server stated Trivia night was already completely full, had already started the night before and when we asked if we could join for the following week, they were unwilling to accommodate us. We asked if there had been advertising that we missed, and Travois stated there was no advertising put on social media. The following week, we arrived at the taproom at 6:15pm and asked if we could join and again, they were unwilling to accommodate us. We were asked to leave before 7:00pm.
During the summer, we had a server who could not remember our orders (even after writing the order down); everyone's order was incorrect. One our friends asked twice for his beer in his Flight Club Cup (which he paid for) and still was brought his beer in a regular cup.
Also, not every person enjoys beer, Travois does not offer a wide selection. The other local breweries provide ciders and alcoholic sodas for those who do not choose to part take in beer or have a...

Peace.
Just be aware this very fam friendly joint has literally nothing else to drink but what they brew and a few liquors. No mixers…no orange juice Travois?
Maybe I’m a vegan but not all of us want beer…maybe it’s medical… maybe it’s abs…call it what you will. Legalities I know…
The pretty girls are masters at the impeccable work they do on the two cooking utensils they have to provide food to those who feel that weird need to eat.
Somebody marry that girl who makes the food here - she will be able to make anything.
Like I don’t know if they have water guys.
The very attentive and expert bartender made a SMASHING carbonated beer based Caesar…
They have pickled eggs, boys. $2 ea. They didn’t the eggs at the time I was there…
KIDS ALLOWED HERE PARENTS! (I don’t got kids but I bet you do- take them here!)
But the kids a pickled egg while here! Enjoy the car ride home!
Baesar looks stunning, bartender has charisma and they are proud of their place.
So drink wise, it a nice little brewpub(?) with a lager for ppl who may not want to drink a whole lot of beer.
I’d go back. Simply because ppl gots kids and you can bring them here if they can just sit and do their thing…
But how they cannot have a simple highball, anything but beer and beer variants…legalities
Two things: Can I bring my own oranges? Why is Grit City Booze so $$$? They got a rep? Nope.
Nice place, busy place. Kind of can’t fail where they are…so...
Read moreFacebook page mentions being open until 8 pm on Sundays, and Google says until 7 pm on Sundays. I was travelling today from Great Falls to Calgary via Havre and Medicine Hat, so I had timed things to arrive before 6 pm. As such it was rather unfortunate that I wasn't able to visit today (Sunday July 3, 2022) as the "closed" sign was up at 5:45 pm (!). Perhaps a bit more excusable if I showed up within 30 minutes of closing or if there was a message on the Facebook page of an early closure, but I must say that this is highly unusual for Canada - I'm far more accustomed to encountering unexpected/unannounced closures of local attractions when visiting developing countries (e.g. the Charles Aznavour museum in Yerevan, the Hassan II mosque in Casablanca...). I had visited (and thoroughly enjoyed) Hell's Basement Brewery on another road trip last year, and was eager to visit another Medicine Hat craft...
