I work as a courier for skip the dishes and I’ve had nothing but good experiences with this restaurant, aside from this one time they forget the customer’s drink and I had to bear the brunt of it. I only get a order number not what the customer orders, that is the restaurant’s responsibility.
Fast forward to today and wow, just wow. I walk in around 11 am and am “greeted” by a middle aged woman with blonde hair working the line. I say greet in quotes since really from the moment I walked in to the moment I left I felt not welcome. I’ll explain how. I ask her how her day is going. Fine so far. She is about 15 feet away from me so perhaps she did not see my pizza bag that says skip the dishes on it so as I’m about to explain to her why I’m here she looks over at what I presume is her order screen and says “no orders yet”. Right I just walk into random restaurants at random times of the day with random bags just to ask people how there day is going. The best I can ascertain is she perhaps was confused that I was maybe a Uber eats driver or just a regular customer who called ahead for pick up. I don’t believe that, I believe something happened to her personal life recently (break up, etc) and that explains her demeanour. Moving ahead I say “nothing there yet” as in shock at her dismissive attitude. Usually they ask for a order number and let me know if it’s going to be a wait. I sit down and wait for about 7 minutes all the while feeling incredible hostility coming from her. After 7 minutes I begin to think she may be confused as to if I’m uber or skip or a call ahead customer so I get up and try to get her attention by speaking to her. I had to yell over the fans, ovens and other kitchen equipment. My exact words were “hi how much longer do you think it’s going to be”? Her back was towards me and this is when it all goes south. She turns around with an incredibly passive aggressive facial expression and begins to point at the order saying “see this, see this, it’s ready when it’s ready” wow just wow. At this point I was fuming, I don’t deserve to be treated like this, nobody does especially not somebody helping out the business you work for. I “yell” back at her “if it’s going to be longer I can wait in my car” to which she responds “I can’t hear you”. At this point I thought it was prudent to let her know her attitude stinks so as she’s approaching me with the order I say “you know, if you could tone your attitude down just a smidgen that’d be great”. I’m pretty sure that took her aback as she stopped in the midst of her tracks. At this point another worker overhears all this and is watching intently. I think ok enough is enough this is not worth the money and I say “you’re going to need to find another courier” turn around and head to the door. Her watching coworker tries to calm down the situation and coax me back by saying “sir sir” and i tell her “i don’t deserve to be treated me this, you’ll have to find another courier have a nice day” I over near the first girl say to the other “he was so rude”. That is my story and no I am not being one sided this is a objective and fair account. I live a 5 minute drive from there and I could easily help these people out but sorry I have a right as a independent contractor to refuse any order I chose and this is the first one so far.
Update: The manager whose name I think was John called me immediate after I sent this review to corporate and apologized for the way I was treated. He said that the employee I dealt with had a lot of customer complaints against her and so was not surprised with my experience. If you plan on going there make sure your server is not a middle aged slightly heavyset woman with blonde hair, I’d either ask for a different server if you don’t feel comfortable doing that be prepared for lousy customer service. You could...
Read moreWarning: Be cautious of all the 5 star reviews here. They are offering a free brownie with ice cream to anyone who does a 5 star review at the table and shows them. No limit, 5 people, 5 5 star reviews, everyone’s dessert is free. It’s incredible disingenuous. Did I post my review and get a free dessert, yep because it’s a free dessert, but I have now gone back to edit it to my correct review and honestly will not be returning to the Milton Boston pizza. I’ll drive to Mississauga. Food was really good, better than other Boston pizzas we’ve gone to. BUT service was awful. The restaurant wasn’t busy, a handful of tables. It took 25 minutes before my husband went to find our server so we could give our drink order. We had our kids with us and while they are patient, 25 minutes in a half dead restaurant to order drinks is a little much. We ordered our food all at the same time. Took another 20 minutes for the drinks to come, but they forgot our waters. So after another 15 minutes we waited and my husband just went up and asked someone cleaning a table if they knew if our waters were still coming. The water came straight away after we asked. About 30+ minutes after our appetizers and meal all came at the same time. So from the time we sat down it took about an hour til we had our appetizers and our kids had their food. If the restaurant was busy we would understand but it was 8 at night and only about half full. We kept being told they were understaffed whenever we had to go find someone. After our food came, my husband had to chase down someone again for Parmesan cheese since the food runner (not our server) dropped off the food and walked away as he was asking for it. Our server did come and bring our bill shortly after we finished eating though, we didn’t have to ask or find her for that.
Not going to lie, since I have a gluten allergy we eat at Boston pizza alot since their gluten-free options are better than most places. Milton is our local one but we’ve had them all over. Rarely have we actually had a good experience at the Milton location, but I don’t usually complain. But since they are offering free desserts for a 5 star review i figured people should know the truth. Keep supporting Boston pizza, they have great food and are a really great Canadian owned restaurant chain. BUT I wouldn’t go back to the Milton location if someone offered to pay for my meal. Other things to note: there is no door on the women’s handicap bathroom, it looks like it was broke off, and it was the only stall with toilet paper….. All in all it was just a really long dinner and half way through we considered just leaving and grabbing McDonald’s. We heard similar complaints from the couple of tables behind us. I’m sure Boston Pizza Milton will contact me to “make it right” and to them, don’t understaff your teams. Your staff seem great and everyone did seem really busy even though there was only a handful of tables. And I truly do believe they are short staff. We’ve been there when there is only two servers for both the dinning room and bar area. Its management and ownership letting down their staff and customers. It’s not the serving staff. Management needs to stop trying to “make it right” and step up and support their team better. Don’t offer free desserts for a 5 star review, run the restaurant properly so you earn 5 star reviews and quit taking advantage of your staff who are...
Read moreI am surprised at just how far the service quality at this restaurant (Milton location) has dropped since I last ate here 2 years ago. I’ve been to this location 6 times in the past 10 years and have never had any issues with the food or service but the waiter/server today was just appalling, and is easily amongst the worst service I’ve ever encountered dining out in my lifetime.
It began with the server speaking in a neutral/negative tone when placing our order for drinks. We waited over 10 minutes for them and had to give the server a reminder, while the restaurant appeared to be less than 30% capacity total both inside and outside the building. I’ve been served drinks faster during a prior BP visit in Christmas holidays with a group of 10 people at near full capacity. I’d also like to point out we were not offered water when we were first seated on an August summer day.
The food itself arrived as normal time but we were not offered if we wanted cheese or pepper on our pasta and finished our meal without them. Every single interaction with this waiter was met with a dull/robotic tone and “yes, right away” and consistently waiting over 10 minutes for drink refills and for the bill even when asking several times at a reduced capacity on a Sunday Evening.
Most frustrating was the total lack of effort in tying to change one of the tv channels to the 6-hole golf playoff that was live at the time. The waiter seemed to make an excuse that “there are many remotes for the TVs” but they would try to change the channel for us. No attempt was made by this waiter to change the channel/contact other staff at all for over half an hour nor they tell us why the channel was not changed so we left BP with this simple request completely ignored by this member of your staff.
The experience overall was so negative that this review is necessary to outline the lack of professionalism and basic customer service expected from a reputable franchise where the quality has simply gone down. After this meal I now have a crystal-clear choice of where NOT to recommend any of my friends and family to dine. This has been the last time I eat at this BP location. Truly dissatisfied and...
