I am a local who frequents this establishment often. These are new owners who have brought new menu items and a whole new feel to the old Rivercone. Like many new endeavours, they have had moments of trial and error. I appreciate their openness to customer feedback and their civic mindedness. Their increased hours of operation are appreciated especially in a town with limited food options. While we all have different palettes, their efforts to make food that generally everyone will enjoy does not go unnoticed. In a community that serves a lot of ice cream, they have found multiple other ways to allow us to enjoy this cold treat such as cones dipped in Belgian Chocolate with 8 or so flavours, razzles and a few extra shake flavours. I for one am a person of simple taste and always get the twisty waffle cone. Thumbs up! I am still on the fence about the poutine gravy but not loving one item is not a reason to unnecessarily score a restaurant poorly when literally everything else is something I enjoy. Their home made burger is amazing. They even have a good veggie burger that I tried when I went through my vegan phase. LOL Recently my husband and I had their breakfast sandwich. It was delish. I feel they are a welcome addition to our community and wish them...

The staff at the Cone have built a community, a "vibe", and a paradise. I'll talk about the amazing food, and outstanding service in a moment, but let me paint a picture.
It's a hot summer day. People are floating down the Gull river in tubes, and there's a group of kids fishing, casting into the shady areas near the banks of the river. Light music is playing, classic Reggae, with the sound of kids laughter in the background. Everybody is smiling, everybody is enjoying the lazy haze that only summertime in such a pristine space can bring.
So. Now that I've set the scene. Food? Top notch. The chicken Sammie is out of the world. Real chicken. Real, fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Tasty sauce. This baby is made with love.
Poutine? Delicious. Also, thick and heavy, so eating on a hot summer's day is a ticket to an afternoon nap.
The ice cream, the whole reason you are here, tastes like summer, like love, like a treat. Soft serve cones, chocolate dipped, milkshakes, all are the perfect panacea for a hot day.
If you're floating by, go grab a cone. If you're driving by, stop for lunch. If you're walking by, wave and join the party.

Read moreUnfortunately I will no longer be supporting this (what I thought was an awesome company) anymore. After staff (looked like the owner himself) came running outside when I was driving by and gave me the finger. I fly the Canadian flag which seems to be rubbing people the wrong way lately.. Regardless if this company agrees or disagrees with Canadians, to actually run out of your business wearing your apron and give my family the finger, with my children in the car watching? Absolutely disgusting. I have been supporting this new business since they reopened because I love mt community and small businesses. But to give my family the finger as we drive by? No thanks. Never again will I be back. You should be ashamed. update in reply to owners response in comments a person ran out of your building, wearing an apron, yelling and giving us the finger. There is no mistake, and hopefully you can take this opportunity to talk to your management about this problem. Denying it happened...
