A real gem, blast from the past very retro restaurant located in Mission, B.C. Just take a look at the photos, if that doesn’t want to make you dress up in 50’s wear, drive the old cadillac and listen to some Elvis Presley or Chuck Berry music. Love the decor! Maybe one day they’ll add a drive in with girls/boys on rollerskates serving you right at your vehicles (something to think about). I only gave it 4 stars coz I ordered their homestyle meatloaf but it was on the dry side. A little bit of sauce on top would have hidden that crunchy side of the loaf. Plus maybe more veggies instead of just corn on the side. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish, but the meatloaf wasn’t that great. Tasty, but not fresh it felt like it was heated in the microwave. So, skip the meatloaf. There are other food to try in the menu. My companion ordered the “Rocko Burger” with fries. It was delish and the fries was yummy. Order gravy on the side and dip or cover the fries with gravy. They have all day breakfast choices and I’ve tried that in a previous visit. Very good 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Try other food, don’t go by what I have ordered (I was very hangry and craving meatloaf). The point is, live a little. Discover little Mom and Pop restaurant like this one. These type of restaurants are a rare find but they do exist and sometimes a trip to nostalgia is what you need to take your “blues” away. Went back at Rockos Diner in Mission, BC, Wednesday, August 15, 2018. This time to try their house Salisbury Steak (see photos). Oh my yummy!!! Fresh from the grill the steak was very tasty and I loved that they topped it with caramelized onions. Once in awhile I craved that “country-style cookin’, and my Salisbury steak at Rocko’s did not disappoint. After I licked off everything on my plate (NOT!), I asked to try one of their homestyle apple pie. I was beyond words. Next time you want a day trip out of Vancouver, B.C., stop for lunch at Rocko’s in Mission, you will not be disappointed.

This is a 3.5 star review, but of course google doesnt allow half star ratings. This will be an unbias review as I would base this review on the 3 categories of food, service, and environment of this establishment. Firstly, the establishment was alright, had the old diner vibes which i did enjoy. However, when we got to our seats, the table was pretty high, and the car seats were wedged in way too close to the table. Other than that, the establishment was alright. When it came down to service, again, nothing special to be remembered because everyone was doing their job (which is understandable) When it came down to food, I ordered a burger with a poutine, and milkshake, while my friend tried breakfast. The Rockos signature burger was nice, juicy, and overall had a nice combination of rich flavours that are supposed to be in a burger. The mushrooms added a nice touch as well, which enhanced the burgers taste and overall rating of this establishment. One downside for the burger, was the patty being a bit cold for some reason and not as fresh. Poutine was alright but there were no cheese curds so it cant really be considered as a poutine. The cookies and cream milkshake on the other hand was simply amazing, and if not, one of the best milkshakes ive had . When it came to my friends breakfast, his poached eggs were horendous. They had a very weird grainy testured, fishy, and overall was inedible. Overall had expectations for this place, but some factors cant be ignored when it comes down to food. Burger was alright, poutine was passable, milkshake was great, but terrible breakfast. Did expect more from this place, but this dining experience wasnt memorable. Could see myself coming back for the burger from time to time, but otherwise will never glance at the breakfast menu. Would I bring my friends and family here? Maybe.

Hype and High Prices - 1st time here today for lunchtime. Parking was easy and we were seated right away, off to a hopeful start and restaurant not too busy. We were seated in an odd half size booth by the door, super hot outside and it appeared their air conditioning was not working well, hot and stuffy inside. That should be a priority repair. Waitresses were generally friendly but never came back after initial water or food delivery to refill or ask how things were. It was clear that we ordered the wrong items, better to stick with burgers and more mainstream items. The burgers did look good and really large. I had the fish and chips, my wife had the shrimp basket. Fries were upgraded to poutine version. My fish was overcooked to dark brown, and looked like it was out of a box or bag - should have been hand dipped homemade. Tartar sauce was bottled, and coleslaw had no flavor. What a let down, but I should have known better. Shrimp basket was the same issue, overdone dark brown, and really unfortunate that shrimp appeared not to have been deveined. Stay far away. Poutine fries were fine, probably the best item on the plate. Prices were very high for what we received, over $30 for two items - a meal and an appetizer plus water. My advice is to stick with items they are best at and avoid fish or seafood. If we return we will be sure to do so.

Well I guess I was expecting more from a place with a reputation. The menu is outstanding! Too look at.. Wasn't impressed with the milkshakes flavor wise they didn't seem organic just really sweet and really fake tasting. As far as the burgers go I was looking forward to some excellent smash burgers made in house but they obviously came from preformed Frozen so were very dense, processed and lacked juicy flavor. Kudos on using iceberg lettuce instead of the limp green leaf lettuce that everyone else seems to think must go on a burger. The french fries also were from Frozen, had a strange unpleasant flavor, were not at all crispy, were very pasty in texture. I love that this is a 24 hour establishment and was looking forward to going there and drawing late at night then well into the morning. I'll have to try the coffee as that will be the deciding factor on whether this is my go-to spot for that or not. This seems like a place where the staff should be having a lot of fun however it didn't seem like they were terribly pleased to be there. Mind you there really isn't much room to move around and be animated.

Actually pains me to give a 1 star rating! I might give them a second chance but not likely after the milkshakes I picked up from there. Tried 2 of them, Coconut and I forget the other now. They both had such a chemical taste that I couldn't even finish them and tossed them out (unheard of for me) Maybe it was because they were so busy, the first time I went there was a huge line up from a tour bus, the driver didn't want to wait so I caught it next time. I had to wait quite a while in line but after that wait and after reading the reviews I had some serious expectations... which were shattered with the first sip, tried the other one... same thing. If I wasn't so far away I would have returned them. For $10 a shake you kind of expect quality, this wasn't even close!! I didn't go inside, it was too busy and I didn't care that a TV show was shot there but if that's your thing... have fun! I'd rather enjoy good food than suffer through food just to say I was there...
