Not terrible, but not great(very bland, and barely passable). Peanut sauce is sub par(tastes literally like watered down peanut butter, rather than peanut sauce). Frozen store bought spring rolls, or at least taste like/textured like it.
More than the food being lack luster, the biggest problem is the cost/portion size. One of the best parts about Vietnamese food isn't just how tasty it is, but it's usually very fair prices for large portion sizes. This place is literally twice the price, for clam shell containers half the usual size - compared to every single Vietnamese establishment I've been to anywhere in the Vancouver/Fraser Valley area, or on Vancouver Island.
Very much not impressed. If the cost and serving size were comparable to every other establishment, then the food itself would be passable; at these prices and serving sizes, the food quality should be a 10/10, but it's not even close. Best I can really give is a 5/10 for the food, but that's honestly trying to be generous because nothing stands out directly as WRONG or gross, just lacking. I wouldn't really call it authentic, either(unlike the many genuine places in BC).
Customer service itself was fine. The person on the phone was friendly, and polite - pickup was also pleasant. Lost some stars because the lack of quality is still a customer service issue, especially if the spring rolls really are pre-made store bought...
Read moreI was hesitant to order here for my first time after reading the reviews. Usually, when I order for take-out for the first time, I don't tip until I've tried the food. The girl working with red hair this past Sunday night on October 24, 2021 was nice as pie to me up until it came time to pay for my food. After I paid with debit she printed my copy and immediately I can sense here body language and tone change. I asked if I could have the itemized food receipt and she didn't even use words. Instead, I received what appeared to be a “pissed off” disappointed eye contact expression. No thank you, or enjoy your meal, etc. The food taste was good (not great). Quantity and value for what your pay is a rip-off. I understand that Covid has impacted every business and increases in the cost of food drives up overhead costs. Personally, as someone who comes from 25 years of experience working in the hospitality industry.....First impressions from “start to finish” of the customer service experience (regardless of IF they choose to leave a tip) are the MOST important. I love to support local restaurants versus big franchise restaurants, especially in this pandemic. Sadly, I won't recommend or return. Prices, food portion (barely any proteins with soups and rice dishes), and customer service (need an attitude...
Read moreExtremely disappointed! We ordered take out at 6:35 pm and were told our food would be ready for pickup at 7:00. We arrive at 7 and my husband stood in the restaurant for 30 mins watching people who had obviously just been seated get served their food while ours was still nowhere to be seen. When our food was finally ready at 7:35 he got to the car and noticed that our green curry had leaked inside the bag and made a giant mess due to it not being packed properly. At this point I was extremely frustrated not only was our time totally wasted now our dinner was a giant mess. I went back inside and requested to be given a discount off our order. SIX DOLLARS is all Little Saigon decided that 30 mins of our valuable time wasted and a ruined entree were worth. This restaurant obviously has major staffing issues and needs MORE staff. The poor girl inside was frazzled and the kitchen employee looked much the same. TWO staff for an entire restaurant during dinner rush is unacceptable. Little Saigon I gave you two stars because last time I ordered food from your establishment the service and food were...
