Who are giving these reviews? Apart from ambiance and the budget focusing on the wall arts, there’s nothing really “wow” about this place. I thought reading the reviews that the food will be authentic Pakistani but it was all students serving cold food. It’s aunty’s kitchen but aunty was no where to be found.
We came on a Sunday morning to have their halwa puri breakfast, we were the only ones there. I’m also providing pictures as proof to show what we were served. These flatbreads are what they called Puris and charged us over a $100 for 4 of these platters, and the 3 small bowls are the portion sizes of their “thaals”. I’ve been to many Desi breakfast spots for thaals for less price and bigger portions.
EDIT: Since Aunty has taken her time out to respond to my review instead of taking accountability, I’d like to clear some things out for future readers. I’m all about fairness and supporting local businesses. I don’t even mind paying more if I get proper service and quality food. I came to Aunty’s kitchen with a positive mindset and expected to have a happy family breakfast. I have the right to share my thoughts and complain regarding my experience, and as a business you have to take accountability for the poor service you provided to someone who paid for it. I didn’t even mention the fact that the chai I received was cold. But i’ll leave that aside. Yes, you are 100% correct about the pricing of the thaals, and I may have left out the detail that I did order 2 extra puris, 1 naan, 1 coffee and 3 chais. However, unlike your speculations, pricing was not my main concern; it was the unfair service. I will be posting a full review on my Youtube channel under the name @gulslifestyle, with everything shown in details, from the portions to the taste and service (including the “chefs”). My two pieces of advice, instead of being defensive, if you could focus on the quality and consistency you could grow more in terms of a successful business....
Read moreWe visited Aunty’s Kitchen for breakfast today 20th June 2025 10:45 and ordered 1 Halwa Puri set, 2 parathas, and 2 cups of tea. The food quality and taste were excellent – fresh, flavorful, and authentic. No doubt the kitchen team knows how to deliver desi flavors well.
However, there were a few things that really stood out in a *not-so-positive way:
Cultural Representation : I noticed that only 3 provinces of Pakistan were visually highlighted on their wall (Punjab, Sindh, and KP). Balochistan, the largest province, was entirely missed. At a time when we all strive for inclusion, this felt like a big oversight. Featuring Quaid-e-Azam’s Ziarat Residency or landscapes of Gwadar would add immense cultural value.
Icon Selection – While it’s inspiring to see Malala Yousafzai’s image on the wall, ignoring national legend Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, who gave Pakistan its nuclear strength, felt unfair. A balanced tribute to all our heroes is more meaningful.
Tea Charges – This was disappointing. $4 per small cup of chai is unreasonably high, especially when most desi restaurants in Mississauga include tea in their Halwa Puri combo:
Chef G –11.99 (2 puris, sides – tea available) Shahi Biryani House – $9.99 combo (includes Doodh Patti Chai) Silver Spoon – Tea often included in combos Charsi Karahi, Kolachi – Combo pricing is more inclusive & lesser price than AC.
Crockery & Presentation – For the pricing, the utensils and serving ware could definitely be improved. Imported or better-quality crockery would enhance the dining experience.
In short: ✅ Taste: 9/10 ✅ Cleanliness: 7/10 ❌ Cultural Sensitivity & Pricing:Needs improvement ❌ Value for Money: Moderate
We hope the management considers this feedback. With a few small changes, Aunty’s Kitchen can become a standout desi breakfast...
Read moreWonderful experience at Auntys kitchen. First time trying this place out after hearing about it from some family friends. Came with my wife and kids and enjoyed the family-friendly experience. As for the food, we ordered the MSD chicken roll, nihari, fusion plate and Nutella naan.
MSD roll was EXCELLENT! The chicken was juicy and had a good amount of spice! The bread it was wrapped in was soft and brought the entire sandwich together.
Nihari was better than the average local restaurant and had plenty of meat. A bit oily, but that's generally all nihari dishes so no real complaints there.
Fusion plate was super special!! The meat and rice and butter chicken sauce was a delightful combo. My kids loved it! The spice they add on the fries are to die for! I asked for extra seasoning for the fries and was not disappointed, highly recommended on the fries!
Nutella naan was out of this world! It was the only thing I got to take a picture of bc we went to town on all the other food before we could think of taking a picture. Generous amounts of Nutella made for a delectable dessert option. Suggestion: add a scoop of ice cream on this and game over!
All in all, a great experience. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Was hoping to meet the owners, but had just missed them. Looking forward to returning in the...
