Great (but pricey) Indian food! The service was really good by Devansh (not sure if I’m spelling it correctly. The dishes are generally pricier than other places but you get a reallly good amount of quantity in the price. So it’s worth it. But what’s not worth the price is the $5-6 naans/rotis (and not even like a huge size) & $6 Pepsi cans (no refills!). That’s just extortionate. Overall the food was great I’d recommend the Paneer tikka & Butter chicken they are in a great quantity, cooked perfectly and the flavour is great! The Paneer tikka comes in a creamy jalapeno sauce which is very different from other places where it’s usually in like a sweet chilli sauce(which I’m a fan of) but this was a nice variation, and the paneer portion and coating/cooking is great! The chilli chicken starter was a 1/10, not spicy or flavourful and the chicken was soggy. Not worth $20 whatsoever. The description said “Sweet spicy & slightly sour Hakka Chinese dish” it was neither sweet nor spicy nor sour it was just bland. It didn’t taste like Hakka at all. I saw many bad reviews of the service of this place but our service was great, the server was friendly, made recommendations and even packed our left overs!

I went to this place on October 12th 2024. I have never had this horrible of an experience before. It was around 11:45 pm we went to this place, me and my 7 friends. We called this place when we were deciding on the location and asked them if they had pastries which they did. It was my best friends birthday and i thought of surprising her at midnight with some great start with pastries. We all went there and they told us about the 18% gratuity which we agreed to. We told our server beforehand that after the dinner please bring pastries and he said he understood. We ordered some nachos and cauliflower bites to start with. We got the order and my brother in law asked for some sauce on the side w nachos and bites which came only after we were done with the appetizers. Both nachos and cauliflower bites were good in taste. Then we ordered our mains 2 methi malai kofta, 2 kadhai paneer, and naans to go along with them and one person wanted Mojito. We got the order, we had food. Our mains were average to taste. My friend that asked for Mojito never got his drink so we asked the server again and also asked for some more naans and then we waited waited n waited for 15-20 minutes and no one was coming to our table. That day the restaurant was super busy and what I was noticing was they were understaffed for all the customers they kept accommodating. They were not really paying attention to the customers who were already inside but just kept seating others. At this point everyone was frustrated and now my group didn’t want to eat anymore. So we were calling servers to remind of Pastries but NO they didn’t care. I apologized to my friend and asked for them to give us the bill. IMAGINE THIS PLACE TOOK 10-15 mins TO GET THE BILL to us. I told them we are not going to pay the 18% gratuity as we didn’t receive the service from them. All the things we were asking for we didn’t receive at our table so why should I pay for something that I didn’t use. The manager was called and he agreed that the gratuity should no be added. They he got us the modified bill, and you know what NOW I WAS CHARGED FOR THE PASTRIES THAT NEVER MADE TO OUR TABLE and also for the Sauces that came after the apps were done. Got this taken out, paid over $200 for the worst experience ever. It was my first and last visit to this restaurant. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. They just ruined the whole experience for me and my best friends birthday. DO NOT VISIT

If you want amazing Indian food, this is the place to go to; but this place has tremendous amount of work to do on their ambience. Let me divide my review in 3 components: Food, Ambience and Service! Food: absolutely superb and fantastic portions! We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 mains, and it was superb! My wife hates spicy food and I love spicy food, and they listened to our preferences to make the food accordingly. The appetizers were freshly barbecued as the flavours and the consistency of the meat proved accordingly. Ambience: this is one place this restaurant can seriously improve. I understand due to covid, they had a few furniture all over the place but now that dine in has begun, I recommend the management to clear some boxes and furniture in order to make the restaurant more presentable. They have a bug zapper inside the restaurant and you can hear bugs getting zapped. In addition, I saw some plates kept under the bug zapper. Worst of all the music inside is so loud that I could not properly talk to my wife because we could hardly hear each other. When we asked the waitress, she tried but she was told the music volume cannot be reduced. Management - please look into the ambience and such hygiene issues because I am doubtful I can come back if this is not fixed. Service: excellent service. Our server was Sonam and she did an amazing job to give us some recommendations and ensure we were taken care of. Overall - the food and service was amazing but the ambience, hygiene and cleanliness has serious improvement opportunities. We cannot come back unless these issues are fixed.

Quick review: great tasting food for takeout bc sadly service is not that good Came here with a party of 16 so I understand the limitations certain establishments have when serving bigger parties however, being told that you only have a certain limit at the table only after waiting 40 mins of already waiting for service. In addition, being told to order your main at the same time as your appetizers does feels rushed/forced. Sadly another issue is the fact that cutlery came dirty and our group had to plate ourselves before our appetizers and entrees. Cutlery also was not changed. In terms of the food we ordered several different items including the momos, meat food platter. Food came out fairly quickly and did not disappointed in terms of flavour, tenderness and quality. After we had finsihed our appetizers our waitress’s asked whether we would like to start our main course and the food did come out fairly quick as well. I noticed that most of the dishes came with lots more gravy than meat. That being said I would try this place again if I were doing takeout. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Desi Grill, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, Meet, our server, made us feel incredibly welcome with his warm demeanor and attentive service.We started our meal with their renowned tandoori dishes, and they did not disappoint. This was my first visit to Desi Bar and Grill. I went there with high expectations as the place has good rating. It was dinner planned with a friend and I just say that food is amazing. So what I liked: - Tried Chaap Sindoori and Chicken Angoori (my frd) - the food was amazing and portion size is big. We could not finish the full appetizer - Mint Mojito is superb and should try I may visit again to try main course. Few things which can be improve: - Food is spicy and may create problem for some people. I love spicy so love it - The food will take little bit of time so may offer something to keep guest busy - The place can be busy so you may asked to pay it the bill and go after you finish :) - Music will be little loud so you may feel annoyed if you don’t like Indian music Important tip: the sitting area is not very big. So if you are large group than it may not suits. Also the place and service do not give you exclusive feeling so you can go for causal dinner not for special date.
