Desi Bar Kitchen — Restaurant in Mississauga

This restaurant reminds you of your local small town neighborhood diner! The staff know the customers and their orders! There is always funny banter between the staff and customers! It feels welcoming!

The restaurant is family run and they make you feel like family! Many of the customers have been going there for ten years or more! My favorite part about eating there is not only the food ( which is fantastic) it’s the environment! I enjoy knowing that this place I can come in for a quick bite or sit down as I enjoy my breakfast!

Speaking of food; what can I say?! I have been coming here for 5 years! My favorite is the chicken poutine! However, I have had everything from the falafel pita, chicken salads, Turkey clubs to the burger and fries! They have great daily specials and I try to make it every Tuesday for the lentil rice!!! 😍

The food is priced well! The portions are huge and everything is seasoned well! Now the catering menu....WOW!!!! I had them catering my baby shower!!!! They went above and beyond my exceptions!!! It’s a special menu that has everything from custom sandwiches to chicken Marsala!

I really enjoy going to Sami's for lunch. The food is good, the price is extremely reasonable, the staff is beyond friendly and really takes the time to get to know you.

My only issue has to do with space, both inside and outside. Since their renovations, their open-concept kitchen is beautiful and they have a lot more room. However, I've never been there when it wasn't packed and there is always a line-up. I never feel comfortable eating slowly or taking my time over my meal because someone is always waiting. Likewise, the parking lot is tiny and it's nearly impossible to find parking. Once you're parked, it's also so tight sometimes that you have to be extremely careful leaving. Unless I'm ready to have lunch quite early, I may as well give up on the idea of going.

The food is great and the staff are friendly. Unfortunate that on September 18th @ 11:30 am one of the staff serving food wasn't wearing a mask - hence my 3 star review.

The rest of the staff and customers were all wearing masks and it felt uncomfortable for customers (and I'm sure the staff) to see him serving food without a mask in a time that we are all sacrificing for each other and our families.

If the owners respond to this review with a promise to inform their staff of the provincial covid-19 mask policy...I will keep this review but change it from 3 to 4 stars as the food and service is good.
