My boyfriend has been going to master steaks for over 25yrs. We both have always spoke very highly of Master Steaks and have never had an issue. Today we decided to go for a late lunch and we both ordered our usual steak. As we started to eat our meal my boyfriend took his first bite and pulled a hair out of his mouth. We put the hair back on the plate for them to see and He politely went to the counter with his plate advising of what had happened. The Asian lady at the front brought it to the back to the kitchen. Moments later an Indian man came to the counter with the plate and the hair in his hand. He was examining the long dark hair and the colour of the hair telling us that the long hair doesn't belong to anyone there. I explained to him it's not mine as mine is tied up in a tight bun and my boyfriend is bald so it's impossible that it's his. I explained to him that this hair was pulled out of my boyfriends mouth as he was eating his steak.this man while holding the long stran of hair basically insuniated that it doesn't look like it was in his mouth essentially calling a long time customer a liar. He offered to put the same steak back on the grill instead of replacing the steak. How unsanitary is this not only for me but for others customers!!! I asked him if he was a customer at a resturand and this happened to him if he would be fine with his suggestion of putting the steak back on the grill and he didnt answer. We decided to get a refund on both our meals and leave. This type of customer service is incredibly disheartening especially to a devoted long time customer. The logic makes no sense as to why his steak wouldn't be replaced and you would rather loose a customer of over 25yrs and refund 2 steak meals of $62.00. You really need to re-evaluate your customer service skills. We not be returning as we don't appreciate being called a liar!!! We are appauled by this type of service and the suggestions that this person felt was...
Read moreAfter seeing some posted pictures of the food served here, my wife and I decided to try it for ourselves. My wife ordered the 12 oz New York. and I ordered the 16 oz Delmonico. Both looked fantastic when they arrived at the table, but that's when it all ended. My wife's steak wasn't terribly bad. It wasn't very tender, for the most, it was a bit chewy. But it had a good taste so the chewyness could be overlooked. It was cooked to a medium well. Now, the $37.99 Delmonico was a different story. In 65 years, I have never had a steak like this. This was recommended by the server as being their most tendernest steak. I had mine cooked to a medium, which it was. Half of the steak was nothing but inedible fat and grizzle, which I had to leave on my plate. I do have a picture, but I won't post it. Those who know me know that I eat everything, and my plate is always empty but not in this case. I eat everything thing I could, but this was after approaching the server. She was apologetic and said she could do nothing but defend the quality of their steaks, That's when I returned to my table and tried to finnish my $40 meal. We did complain a couple more times before someone came from the kitchen and tried to say that the chewed up fat and grizzle that filled almost half of the plate was marbling in the meat. They also were very apologetic, but would do absolutely nothing to resolve our complaint. This may have been just a bad steak, and perhaps the rest of their menu is fantastic, but now...
Read moreWas recommended to Master Steaks by my dad who said it was fantastic years ago. I was quite disappointed since he spoke to highly about it. Prices are very reasonable however the quality isn’t great which is why you can get a steak, shrimp, side and salad for under $30. The steaks were ok. Ordered the steak and shrimp (shrimp was decent). Steak was under seasoned and slightly chewy. Greek Salad was good. Fish & Chips were beyond terrible. Got the lunch special basa for the kids and haddock for myself and both were very disappointing. It was just breading and barely any fish. I’d compare it to a chicken ball with no chicken inside. It was also very oily. Since it was all breading it retained the oil. I ended up throwing it out. I’d give it 0/5. Haddock was $17 and literally it was all thick batter. The fries were fresh cut which were good. The poutine is made with mozzarella and not cheese curds. Gravy extremely salty. My son had the grilled chicken Greek salad and said it was great. So stick to the chicken. And don’t get the cake. It was stale and $6.99 for the smallest slice. Service was slow. Girl preparing the food was miserable. Girl taking orders forgot our drinks. It’s an old diner and looks like they haven’t renovated since it opened. Overall it’s...
