We have been faithful customers of this restaurant since it opened, however, the service and quality has continued to significantly deteriorate over time. Last night my retired parents wanted to treat the family for Eid to a nice dinner. They ordered food and travelled all the way from Milton to pick it up. The whole commute alone is an hour to and from the location but we wanted to support the small business.
Unfortunately the food was horrible, stale chicken, stale noodles, stale rice and not edible ‘beef Manchurian’.
All of us felt so bad for my parents who spent their savings to buy this quality of food hoping for a nice dinner. It was a large order for 6 people so it was no small change.
We called to complain to the restaurant, after multiple holds and call backs, we finally spoke to the ‘apparent’ owner who did not seem the least bit concerned.
His first reaction was you shouldn’t have ordered the Beef Manchurian as it never does well with our customers. Wow! So why is it on the menu? Why didn’t any one tell us while we called that it’s not fit to order? After a long conversation and him defending their process and how ‘fresh’ the food was and how they never have issues, he finally suggested ok we will give you a free rice and a free item next time you come. There is no ‘next time’ sir! You just lost faithful customers. Not once did he offer a discount or a refund for the inconvenience. He claimed they have been running the business for ‘13’ years! One would hope 13 years would teach you better customer service and the capacity to offer ‘fresh food’ to your customers.
For any one still wanting to try this restaurant, the items we ordered were: 2 dragon crispy chicken where the chicken was stale; beef Manchurian where the gravy had a foul taste and the beef tasted bad, 2 fried rice where the rice had a stale taste (and the rice used is also not 100% basmati by the way) and American chopseuy where it was more gravy then the fillings (like chicken and vegetables were scarce) and also the noodles were not fresh and not crispy as they should be. We also ordered the hot and sour soup which was average.
I generally don’t post bad reviews as I’ve been a small business owner myself. However, every one works hard for their money, and to sell ‘halal’ food, it should truly be halal, i.e. the product should be fresh and not old where you take customers hard earned money, which in this case happened to be of two retired...
Read moreNot very welcoming. Ordered 4 dishes. The dishes were not flavourful at all. The guy who took the order did not know the menu well. I asked for chilli fish with extra chilli and gravy. He did not know whether it comes with gravy but went back to check. Waited 25 mins between soup and the main dishes whereas there were 3 tables with 2 people on each table. I think they used chillies that are soaked in vinegar rather than fresh ones as I asked for extra spicy. The chilli fish gravy was so sour. We could barely eat any of the food and brought everything home. They never came to ask if anything else is needed. They got into a argument with a customer while we're there. They ran out of CHK corn soup ( I think) by 8 pm. A customer asked for it for take out and he left right away without it. I think if the food is moderate and the prices are same or more compared to other Hakka places, restaurant needs to work extra hard with the service but if all are bad to average, there is no incentive. It was my first time going there and I will NEVER go back again. My favorite place is closed on Mondays and I was craving for Chinese which made me try this location....
Read moreI would give them ZERO STARS if I could HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RUDE MANAGER the FISH PAKORA was disgusting and veg noodles and dragon chicken was mediocre when asked for a refund for the fish pakora the manager refused saying the food is fine will never be coming here again.
Reply to the owner- First of all I am the consumer I bought and tried the product and did not like it you have no right to tell me that nothing was wrong with it. Only the restaurants that don't get much business are the one's that refuse to give a refund. After a lot of arguing is when you finally agreed to give me a soup for free but that is not what I intially wanted. And you never asked me to give you back the fish pakora and even if you did why should I give it back to you? I rather throw it away because the fish pakora was $15 and the soup is only $8 I can't believe you went out of your way to reply to my comment unbelievably petty customer service and worst experience you are acting like this is the first time you got a bad review will not recommend and ever return again...
