SERIOUS HEALTH CONCERN AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!
This is my 2nd Post about this concern:
I ordered samosas a few times a year ago and had no reason to question their practices as they were always brought from the back.
One day i was hungry and ordered a rice dish with chicken and shrimp from the hot table and was horrified to find out my first bite was absolutely cold. i chose to investigate rather than complain and the following day i went in and inconspicuously felt all three of their hot tables of about 20 dishes and found they were all cold. i wrote a review about it and shocking there was no reply from the restaurant at all to investigate or look into my concern. I checked periodically for months and found they never use them at all then i moved out of the area.
I was in the area last week and thought i would check and WOW all cold!!!
This is a SERIOUS HEALTH CONCERN that should not be taken lightly!!!
This is against all Health standards and practices to sell food loaded with bacteria.
The majority of their reviews are not genuine, perhaps friends and family.
This establishment should be shut down!!!!!!!!!!!

my 1st Post almost a year ago:
I have eaten here a handful of times and would ADVISE anyone who CARES about there health, DO NOT EAT HERE!
They are breaking the law and not following any Canadian food regulations., food handling is terrible and food is cooled to room temperature and served to customers. Don't let the nice pictures of the steam tables fool you they are not using any of them, everything is cold., lots of meat dishes and fish dishes sitting there at room temperature. It's pathetic and disgraceful and they should be ashamed to serve food in this fashion two customers full...

The staff is very courteous and quick. During weekends between expect a 10-15 wait for you to come up and order the dishes if to be made in the kitchen if not the counter has many ready to serve dishes that should take no time at all.
I have had the veggie Thali and I cannot finish that plate. They load it with rice (choice of white/regular OR red rice) and 6 Vegetables. The rice itself weighs probably 2 pounds! And then the veggies. Very good, but just too much for one meal. If they do have Mushrooms Curry, I suggest to take a medium or a large container home - it is one the best I have ever had.
Kottu Roti is my favourite. Veggie Kottu roti is made with strips of roti and whatever veggies is inside the kitchen and hence it tastes different every time. I ask that no oil be used and it tastes great. The quantity is more than enough for one as well.
The other favourite is Masala Dosa and Onion Dosa. (Under $6 bucks versus $10+ in restaurants). Both are equally good, but the Masala which consists of only potatoes is too much and onion dosa has too many onions. The size of the dosa is quite big as well. So after trying I order a mixed which works out great. Again I ask no oil and it comes out perfect. The sambar is hit and miss sometimes. The coconut chutney is slightly on the spicier side.
Have tried many of their ready snacks are they not bad. Most of the Indian versions taste better, but here the Sri Lankan’s...
Read moreYesterday i went to annapoorna again for another chance and i waited and look at the menu what should i have and i plan on getting a chilli chicken kothu roti, the lady ask me if i wanted spicy medium or mild. I said mild and she gave me mild and i ask her what is this it look like a patties she said its a vege roti i had to try it it taste really good with potato and honestly pretty flavourful. as i wanted for 5 mins for the kothu finally it arrived and as i went home the taste was really good. Over all i give it a 10/10 for the best kottu and this should be enough for 2 people and good portioning and the vege roti and it was very affordable not to expensive compare to other restaurant but this is not bad. I hope to be back soon to annapoorna to try out more Sri Lankan and south...
