Makkar Baker's — Restaurant in Mississauga

I reviewed this establishment when it first opened years ago. I read up on the current mixed negative and positive reviews. I would still recommend this place specially for the patties and veg sandwiches. I have yet to try any pastries so far. Had their chana kulcha (chickpeas sandwich) yesterday, will go back again litterly today to grab another one. If you are really looking for a quick bite or a snack with tea this is the right place to come. Also the bread used in sandwiches is baked in house which resembles the bread sold in India (similar flavours). This Indian bakery really reminds me of the local town bakeries in India. Most of the negative comments are about a negative customer service experience. Maybe we forget how rude and non existant "customer service " is provided in your local Asian food joints. Yet we tolerate that and visit them again and again. Maybe look beyond that and go for food only. Not like you are gonna sit their for an hour eating a patty. Next time you pass by grab a chana kulcha and thank your wallet that you only paid $3 for it and not spent $20 on an unhealthier expensive option at your "good customer service " American...

I have been visiting this bakery for many years. Their sweets buns and channa kulcha and even cookies are all good.

Recent experience - we got rasmalai sweet - cream rolls. Came back and put rasmalai in fridge. A day later When we opened the rasmalai, it had gone so bad that the smell almost make vomit. Very disappointed. Called the store and the lady gladly said to replace it. I went back and ended up getting pastries instead as I couldn’t even see the rasmalai sweet and as she asked, I paid the difference. It was inconvenient to go again and get replacement. I would say the pastries are expensive. They use four pieces which are basically two pastries been cut into four. I find these too expensive. You can’t even mix flavours. They need to provide this option. I would also say considering the discomfort we had and disgusting smell of rasmalai sweet, they should have gladly just gave pastries without charging difference. Thankyou for spoiling my daughter's six month birthday with ur worst ever cake. I ordered a customized fruit cake and in return we got a awful cake. The bread was not fresh and it does not have even fruits inside. We have explained clearly how to design/customize the cake and even given/shown pictures of the cake and they write it clearly on the paper but what we got was completely different and no where close to what we have ordered. When we complain and ask about the same, the baker started blaming his coworker who take our order. He told us that she is not picking up the phone from the morning and he made the cake with whatever information he had. This is so unprofessional behaviour.

It was worst experience with makar bakers, i ordered first time from them and they make a mess of it. It will be the last time i have ordered from you guys. Thank you for making my family embrace infront of my guests too.
