Pizza Pizza — Restaurant in Mississauga

My boyfriend and I have been going to this location at least once a week for about a year and a half now since I moved in with him. I LOVE Pizza Pizza and was going to their other location every week in Ajax for years prior to moving to this area. We used to love this location in all aspects! The service amongst everything else was great! About 6 months ago a young asian girl began working there. My boyfriend and I are both very bubbly polite people and are always very friendly when we go in, but for some reason this girl is always extremely standoffish and seems very annoyed to even be serving us. All around she is extremely unpleasant to deal with. Just tonight we purchased a pizza and once again she was extremely standoffish (even after messing up my order with no apology, and this seemed to make her even more frustrated with me) and then proceeded to be very polite to another customer right in front of me. I found this highly offensive given I've been nothing but pleasant since day 1 (even though she was nothing but rude). On top of all of that, she charged me for the wrong order which was fine, but instead of crediting back my credit card she gave me a gift card for the amount over charged which I thought was very odd. And then she proceeded to hand me the gift card without explaining any of this to me, and of course was super annoyed when I asked what the card was for. Enough is enough. We're switching to another location. This employee should not be up front serving customers and she needs to be trained on how to be a decent human being if this is the treatment she is giving some, or they won't be...

Update 2023-07-07: Tried their original poutine, it was alright, had all the components of a decent poutine. They've improved. 🙂

I would give them zero stars but that's not possible. I ordered a 2 large pizza special that comes with 6 toppings, 6 cans of pop and 2 sauces. I asked for the first pizza to have regular crust, and extra cheese, and the second to have a thin crust with extra cheese. They charged me an extra $2.00 for extra cheese even though I didn't order any other toppings, because mozzarella is considered a premium topping, even though that's what the pizza is made with. When I received my order, they didn't provide a receipt, they forgot one of the sauces, and both pizza crusts were identical. I had no clue if they sent regular or thin crust. When I called customer service to let them know, I was initially told I would get a refund, then the customer service associate, "accidentally" hung up on me, but he called back right away, letting me that the call was dropped. He then told me that he was sending me another thin crust pizza with the missing sauce, because there are no refunds, even though I didn't ask for one. Within 5 minutes, I was called again by pizza pizza letting me know that the driver would need to see the pizza when he came to deliver the new one. I was annoyed and told them not to bother. This was my third visit to Pizza Pizza, and yet again, I was met with the same rude and unprofessional behavior from the staff. As an Indian customer, the treatment we received felt discriminatory, which is both unacceptable and deeply disappointing.

As someone who owns several food chains, I can confidently say this is not how staff should be trained to treat customers. Respect, inclusivity, and professionalism are fundamental in the food service industry, and this location falls far short of those standards.

I’ve given this location multiple chances, hoping for a better experience, but the consistent lack of respect has left me no choice but to share my experience with others. I strongly urge the management to prioritize staff training and create a more welcoming environment for all customers.
