Man... I was really hoping for better. I love hakka... But this was disheartening (the kindest word I could use). I should have gotten the clue when at 12:30 there was only one other customer there. It took 5 minutes after I sat down and ended up walking up to the counter to order just to get a glass for water. The hot and sour soup was a little spicy, as it should be, but no flavor... Which, as I found out, was a theme there. It came with a spring roll which was nice and crunchy and then a mush of flavorless filling. And for the main, I ordered the Ginger Chicken with fried rice. Now you might think, "mmmmmm ginger chicken " and maybe start drooling a little... I know I did. However, the chicken was meh at best. It was, from what I could taste, a chicken gravy with a touch of ginger. Seriously, I couldn't taste the ginger until the final bites... And even then the basmati rice had more taste than it. Take that in... The rice had more flavor than GINGER. The only thing fried rice about the rice was it was slightly browned in color and had a small handful of veggies... There's not a chance that this was fried. Guaranteed they took their steamed rice, added maybe soy and some warm veggies and called it a day. Honestly speaking, you could find more flavor in a senior's home cafeteria than at Salt & Pepper. I try not to ever give 1 stars, but seriously, the only positive thing was the price and free wifi. $11 before tip.

If i could I would’ve gave 0 stars! Man the service and food is so bad! Like real bad! I ordered the food we did pickup, it was 30min drive from my place and it was first time. When i reached home thinking to have an amazing meal. I was missing one of two ordered soups. I called the restaurant they said sorry by mistake it happened and we understand that it happens nobody is perfect. I told them i am 30 min away my other food will get cold if i drive tht much for the soup. The waitress/hostess told me we will compensate for their mistake when ull come next time with 1 extra item. Next time i placed order for same soup which i was missing and one additional which they said to give. I went there after 30 min they gave me ☝️ one. I asked then i placed order for 2. Then she said oh but we saw that u were only missing 1 soup. Man who does that- if u didn’t place the order for two why u guys didn’t said tht on first place that u are going to cook just one. Then i told i want to tlk the senior its completely waste of time. The superior chef came said we apologise we’ll make soup in 2 min i was like okay i wait. I did take 2 min and gave me liquid with red colour and raw spices in it. All the food was tossed in coloured water, and salty soup with overloaded spices, Like pure garbage is what they are serving. It was my first and last and i will make sure not to recommend this restaurant to anybody.

If you’re craving Hakka Chinese food- stay away. I’m not sure why this place has such high reviews but nothing about the food they serve is Hakka Chinese food. On the positive note, the quantity is pretty good. They really fill it up to the brim. I was hoping to satisfy my craving for Hakka Chinese food, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. The overall experience left much to be desired, especially when it comes to flavor and quality. First off, the food itself was bland, lacking the bold, savory punch that you’d expect from good Hakka cuisine. The spices were minimal, and the dishes didn’t pack any real depth or complexity. It felt like they didn’t put much thought into the seasoning at all. The fried rice was especially odd. It almost looked as though it had been just steamed with a little bit of hot sauce. It didn’t have that crispy, slightly charred edge that makes fried rice so delicious. The noodles were okay at best, but again better options out there. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I left feeling like the food didn’t live up to the price or reputation. I wouldn’t recommend Salt and Pepper if you're looking for authentic or flavorful Hakka Chinese food. There are definitely better options in Mississauga for this type of cuisine.

Zero stars. I don’t usually post reviews but this place has horrible service if you tell them they gave you the wrong dish.

Around 4:45-5 pm I ordered Szechuan Shrimp Noodles while pointing at the dish and telling the girl that’s what I want.

This other girl brings me Manchurian noodles instead. I tell the girl it’s wrong and the one who took my order it’s wrong and to take it back and she fought with me for a good 5-10 minutes over the food.

Explaining to me how “she said aloud the order twice” constantly repeating the same phrase over and over again.

I explained to her she did not repeat no order twice and nor did I hear Manchurian from her.

She started convincing me she can’t take the order back and will put the Schezuan in the same noodles.

I said I ordered Shrimp Schezuan not Chicken Manchurian.

She would not listen and instead gave me excuses about the chef and how she can’t give me the order I actually placed.

For a good 10 mins this girl is arguing with me about not wanting to take back the wrong dish!!

Next she barely even said the order aloud once and claimed she said it twice?? I did not acknowledge anything of that sort being said to me.

This short Asian girl fought with me over and over and would not stop. How ridiculous. Why hire someone who clearly hates her job?

I come to this place often and never had bad service before. But because of her horrible behaviour and attitude I will never return here again.

There was no manager, no employee and nobody else would come forth to discuss or say sorry with the way she acted.

She wouldn’t take the Manchurian dish back and instead left and did not come back. I went and paid for my other order at the front and left.

This is horrible behaviour for a restaurant. Especially from a waitress who does not own the place.

Please learn to hire people who actually know what customer service is. No restaurant fights over bringing out the wrong order ever. What type of nonsense is this?

Needless to say. I will not be returning nor bringing my family or friends with me here again....

This was my second visit during the last 3 weeks. During the first visit the server seated us down as expected, hereafter just disappeared w/o even asking for water. Saw her again, as she welcomed other guest gave them water n took their order( still did not come to my table) we waited patiently, the server brings the order out for other guest & when my husband requested for service she was apologetic and gave us water. Thereafter disappeared again reverting back to take order, after a few minutes. She brought broken / chipped plates which when requested to be replaced she apologised again & brought in fresh plates.inspite of all this we gave a good tip n thanked her for her service when leaving. The food was excellent .

The second time we decided to pick up the food by placing an online order which indicated for 10% discount on the website. however ,while placing the order the site never let me input the discount code or provided for an estimated time .My husband arrived at the restaurant after 30 minutes of placing the order but was advised to wait , inspite of the restaurent being scarce on guest he waited and the order was brought to him in next 10 minutes. What has prompted me to write this review is that when we questioned for the 10% discount option not being available, the cashier said that the discount was available by calling in for the order as well as on online orders, but failed to show us how? But, offered to give us a free pop for an order exceeding $80. I want to conclude, this review by saying that, you guys get a 5/5 on the quality & taste, but request you to take a hard look on the service & come through on the commitment of discount, as mentioned on the website. I might consider, not going back, just because of the...
