I came into this restaurant on the evening of March 25, 2025.
Just had a steak meal after a long day working remotely in my hotel room, after my flight was delayed. I didn't have a car with me, nor did I want to walk to another restaurant, so I thought I'd give this restaurant a chance as it's conveniently located in the hotel.
For the food, it's pretty decent for the price point, so if you're more value food oriented, this could be a good spot for you. My steak was seasoned well, and the peppercorn sauce was tasty. It's not a top tier cut of course, but if you wanted something affordable and made right to what you ask, this is a good choice. Kudos to the chef for doing medium rare, right.
I think what particularly made my experience very good was the Bartender named Pauline. I was looking at the menu outside and she called me into the restaurant in a very endearing way. She could see I was tired and hungry, and I joined her at the bar for dinner for one. She was pleasant and friendly, and kept the right amount of time with me on how my meal was doing and helping with other guests coming from the hotel.
She actively called in guests to come into the restaurant, made them feel welcome and I saw her several times thanking guest as they were leaving for coming in despite being a bit busy at times with other guests. Seems like the other guests were happy chatting with her and thanking her as well.
Having worked in the hospitality industry myself at one point in my life, it's nice to see someone who just seems like she genuinely cares about what she does and how she makes others feel.
Kudos to you Pauline, and thank you for the great service and mini chat on life, while singing REM with me at the bar to help bring my spirits up.
To the owners, I kindly ask you share some recognition to Paul and the chef in the...
Read moreWe had the opportunity to stay at the hotel for the week. The first night we decided to get some food after checking out Toronto. We ordered steak and fish. Due to our late arrival back to the hotel we were unable to get steak so we both had the fish and chips. The fish was extremely crispy and dry. It was over cooked completely. The fries were good.
We had our breakfast there every morning and it was delicious every time. It was a buffet. It was 21.99 per person if you were not at the hotel. The potatoes were switched up everyday. One day it was hash browns, then taters or wedges. The French toast was absolutely delicious. I enjoy scrambled eggs but enjoyed having the option to have them made differently (even an omlette with your choice of toppings!). We have different options of pork and chicken sausages as well as bacon.
The staff were very sweet and kind. John helped us with the Toronto area and good places to go. The morning server was very nice and attentive.
I would try this spot again, definitely earlier in the day and not...
Read moreNachos were good and tasty $12 on happy hour. Relative to other places, slightly larger portions are given. Calamari was not great. Squid was soft but felt it was very oily and not a fan of the batter. At $19 I would expect better. Many fruit flies throughout the main floor and bar area suggests they need better cleaning or food/drinks are being left out. Beer taps were clean and plugged up with rubber stoppers which I think was a good idea to keep flies out. Service of staff was very...
