Review of Abou Elias Restaurant:

I recently had the opportunity to visit Abou Elias Restaurant, and unfortunately, I left with a rather disappointing experience. While I had heard positive things about their sandwiches and service, my personal encounter was far from satisfying.

One of the first things I noticed was the size of the sandwiches. They were incredibly tiny, which left me feeling a bit short-changed. It seemed like there was barely any filling, making the overall taste and satisfaction quite underwhelming.

To make matters worse, the meat in the sandwiches was extremely chewy. It felt like it had been overcooked or lacked tenderness. This greatly affected the overall enjoyment of the meal, as I had expected a better quality of meat.

Moreover, the service I received when requesting a bit of garlic sauce on the side was quite disappointing. The employee seemed irritated by the request and proceeded to lecture us about their policy of not providing additional condiments. Their attitude was unprofessional and left a negative impression. It is disheartening when a customer's reasonable request is met with such hostility.

The most disappointing aspect was the stark contrast between the restaurant's online presence and the actual experience. While they may portray themselves as generous and offering amazing service on various YouTube channels, the reality was far from it. It felt as if they were merely pretending to provide exceptional service for the sake of online appearances.

Overall, my visit to Abou Elias Restaurant was far from satisfactory. The sandwiches were tiny, the meat was chewy, and the service was below par. I would advise potential customers to approach this establishment with caution, as the actual experience may not align with the...

What happened to the sandwiches ? Since 2020 I went back today , and the sandwich was just onion and garlic sauce . The chicken and lamb in the centre and just the empty bread on bother sides... I saw while he had my sandwich on the grill a couple of meat pieces drop out and they did not have the courtesy to refill it and gave me an almost empty sandwich. I suppose it is off my list , sadly I won't be going back . It's not like their price are better than others , but I rather Boustan for a.decent sandwich.

Edit : your reply sounds like it's the first time I visited you place . I have been coming for more than 5 years . Besides why would you call other options as cheaper . Another thing : I did request for all dressed at the counter . Being busy does not mean to short the customer. When meat dropped your guy just rolled the charcoal and looked at me and I assumed he would do the right thing . Sure, other places do serve proper quality but it does not mean that you call them cheap ....I wish I had taken a picture of the sandwiches and be the way I had one of each the chicken and lamb . You never charge the customer less because you are busy and maybe quality get compromised then why would you give less to the customer for paying...

This was my first time ordering from Abu Elias Butcher, including lamb cubes (500g), filet mignon(1KG), chicken(1.5KG), and kefta(500g), and I received incorrect portions and products. For instance, I got underweight of some chicken; ordered 1 kg, received only 800 g... and wrong preparation where I requested unmarinated filet mignon, but it arrived marinated and some hidden weighing policy: they said they normally weigh the chicken, charge you based on that and then start cleaning it and you are left with the remaining weight , but that wasn’t mentioned anywhere and it doesnt make any sense... so expect to receive different quantity from what you've ordered...

When I called to clarify, the owner acknowledged the mistakes but offered no resolution or compensation. Rather than taking responsibility, I was left feeling blamed for the errors, he repeated how customers are expected to call the store following their website order to confirm what they were expecting to receive and the qty's, as if the inputs already made by the customer are suggestive only. What an unusual process....

The lack of meaningful respone nor follow-up, has left me unhappy and hesitant to...

Delicious food, tastes just like in Lebanon. I can't believe I've waited all this time to discover this place. Treat yourself and go the mixed meat platter. I see some comments here saying it's overpriced, it's just not. This is MUCH better than what you can get from the big Lebanese food chains, it's incomparable. The meat is flavorful, fresh, juicy. It comes with all the right fixings. Their potatoes are d delicious too. Also, please give a try to their hummus. This is what real hummus should taste like. This is the only place I've tried that serve a proper hummus in Montreal (and trust me, I've tried many Lebanese restaurants on the island and in Laval for the past 10+ years). This would be considered a good hummus even in Lebanon. It is creamy, and you can really taste the tahini. Ordered through doordash and it arrived quickly and well packaged.

So disappointed by Abu Elias. Clear sign that Anthony cant be trusted anymore as a reliable source. Got the marinated chicken legs, raw meat and ribs. The bad: chicken thighs sadly had to be thrown out the next day. It was old and smelly. For the price tbh i was expecting fresh chicken. For it to spoil within a day isnt a sign of fresh chicken. It was stored along with the ribs which were amazing, so definitely not a fridge issue on my end. The raw meat was not handled according to Canadian guidance for handling raw meat which was a major disappointment given that they make “kebbe nayeh”. The ribs were delicious so no issue there. Prices are really inflated and doesn’t justify the quality.

Friendly humans helping you find the best cuts of meat. This establishment has only meats from Quebec farmers! If you want to support a local business, that supports other local businesses, this is the choice to go! A kind gentlemen helped me to season a Kibbeh Nayeh portion, allowing to test taste to make sure we get it the way I like it! This place has great sandwiches, cooked foods and pastry to fulfill any event you are hosting or just a quick lunch.
