ACROPOLIS PIZZA - Resto Grec / Italien — Restaurant in Montreal

So sad to see the name that was built over decades of hard work and discipline come to ruins in this way.

My better half told me about this place - raving about the owner and the food quality from years passed - when we drove close by the area. So I encouraged him to stop and lunch there together- as the timing was right and I had not known this place.

On a Sunday afternoon - when there were clearly 5% of total seating areas occupied- you could still find tables with dirty dishes and filthy tablecloths surrounding your peripherals. The waitress seemed so unbothered by your presence that you could have promised to turn her feet to gold and she still would not have bothered to acknowledge your existence... Forget checking up during your meal- forget making sure you have everything you need.... the ambiance of this place is that they cannot get rid of you fast enough. So very sad - not only in reference to my starting point - but sad also that in this day and age where people in the service industry are fighting nail n tooth to stay alive - you can find businesses that just take it all for granted. I am so very disappointed with my first visit to this place but I would definitely tell you - take out is best. The submarine bread is perfection and very much worth the take out.

But... as we were discussing the place - 'my partner mentioned to me the first review that popped up - featuring the cockroach as a guest star and ..well... I just had to share.

I don't want anyone to ever lose their livelihood- but it is SO incredibly important and crucial to look out for people's well-being when trying to provide a service. Especially when it concerns food.

As much as we would have returned one day - if only for the subs.... there is NO chance in hell we'll ever be back.... Honestly- the cockroach just can't be erased from my memory and it is...

The location has a massive dining room but had zero customers dining in on a Friday night, big red flag. The menu consisted of italian-greek fusion dishes, there was a LOT of dishes on the menu which is never a good sign that they're going to be offering quality. We ordered a large All Dressed pizza and the 2 chicken pita plate. I was confused why the server was cutting and serving the Greek-style pizza with spoons, it was separating the ingredients from the pizza... I guess the restaurant can't afford a pie-server? The pizza said it included pepperoni but underneath all the cheese was the meat hidden, some pepperoni but most of it was some other luncheon deli meat that was larger and soft and not dry-cured like pepperoni. There was a lot of cheese on top and little amounts of green peppers. I tried a bite of it from my partners plate and didn't like it so didn't bother grabbing a slice. The chicken pitas were worse, the pitas smelled like they'd be in the freezer for far too long and tasted like they'd absorbed so much flavors from Acropolis' fridge and kitchen. It had maybe a 1/4 cup of sauce in there, measily strips of dry chicken flash fried on a grill for char marks and I assume "smokey" flavor, and I really can't tell you if there was fresh vegetables in there because the whole thing was a sauce sandwich. I didn't eat more than one of the fries on the plate because it was those frozen bulk-distributed fries. Unfortunately the salad was the only decent part of the meal, and all it was was iceberg, sliced tomatoes, and a vinaigrette. All-in-all I've had cheaper and better quality experiences at comptoirs.

Good customer service, but please arm your servers with a pie-server...

Used to think this place was the best pizza in town... a bit expensive 35$ for a medium cheese bacon with tip well deserved ,i hadnt ordered there for a while and decided to treat myself ... i call them and ask for a cheese bacon pizza as i used to do back then... the girl on the phone say its a akropolis 1 i say well if its a cheese bacon i want a cheesebacon she say ok ... i wait more then an hour to receive a all dressed pizza ... i call back say she didnt delivered the right one the girl answer me you ordered akropolis 1, after i repeated i want a cheese bacon i asked my pizza to be replaced,i wait and wait and wait ,after more then 2h no news from my right pizza she said there was no other pizza on the way , the girl start actin with attitude and i ask to speak to the boss she refuse sayin she is the boss and hang up on me , my girlfreind call back and the girl start sayin je me fou je me fou!!! ... never had such a bad experience with a restaurant ever they dont even deserve to be open anymore this this is now a scam...
