We went to Saray for Mother’s Day and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with spacious seating and a beautiful setup. The staff were friendly and helpful, answering all our questions with a smile.
We were five people and ordered a breakfast meal for two, which included omelettes, jam, and bread — surprisingly generous! We added a Turkish-style pizza (Pidè), a cheese and spinach galette (Gozlemes), three simits, and a traditional tea service. Everything was fresh, delicious, and nicely presented. For dessert, we had Turkish knefeh and asked for the syrup on the side, which they gladly did.
There was even some birthday singing going on, which added a fun and festive touch. At about $28 per person (tax included), it was a great value for the quality and quantity of food. We’re definitely coming back for dinner!
update (june 7th):
We visited Saray Restaurant for dinner for the second time, and once again, it was a great experience, just like the first time. The staff welcomed us warmly, and our table was ready upon arrival. It’s important to make a reservation, especially during special occasions, as the place gets quite busy.
The food was delicious. We ordered the steak d’entrecôte, chicken pirzola, lentil soup, and chicken sac tava. All dishes were served with salad, a vegetable platter, potato wedges, bulgur, and their freshly baked bread—which was absolutely amazing. The only exception was the sac tava, which came as a casserole of sautéed chicken with vegetables, but without any side dishes.
My only remark is that the chicken pirzola felt overpriced at $34, considering it’s just chicken thigh, especially when compared to the...
Read moreOne of the worst customer service experience. Some Waiters need training in terms of how to talk with customers. They asked for feedback and we answered instead of saying sorry etc they just defend themselves, very interesting…
Anyway, first of all we waited almost half an hour on the line even though some tables were empty, i guess they need more staff to handle these issues.
We ordered and waited another half an hour to get our food, i saw many people were waiting long time which is not great experience.
They brought us the cokes immediately - within a glass with ice cubes, why? We had 30 min to receive our food lol. They supposed to ask if we want our drinks with the food or earlier— waiter training need again.
While we were waiting - as we are super hungry, we asked for warm bread and something to eat, they told they dont do this here, this is not a regular Turkish restaurant- yes for sure lol. This was not my first time in Turkish restaurants in Canada, maybe 150th times.. never had this kind of inhospitable behaviour for the last 8 years..
Food came, not only the meat is less for the price but also it was not hot. Expensive for the experience and food, wouldn’t visit again. Ohh i am not talking how bad taste the sutlac had, but the only good thing one waiter accepted when we told him we cant eat it, thanks to him and he said they wont charge us for it.
Overall not pleasant experience, expensive prices for the low meat prices in Montreal.
Paid almost 80 dollars for the 2 skewers of Adana - talking in terms of total meat amount...

We recently visited Saray for dinner with friends after reading positive reviews. While the restaurant’s ambiance and warm welcome were commendable, the overall service fell short of expectations.
Three of us ordered Lahmacun and one Adana kebab. Unfortunately, the Lahmacuns arrived lukewarm, and the traditional garnishes—parsley and lemon—were missing or extremely minimal. Despite multiple requests, it took a long time to receive a very small portion of parsley, by which time our food had become cold and greasy.
Dessert (kadaif) was delayed significantly, and servers changed frequently, making communication difficult. Although we appreciated the gesture of two complimentary teas, the overall coordination was lacking.
We were also disappointed that no detailed bill was provided. The payment terminal did not offer an option to select a lower or no tip, effectively forcing a 15% gratuity.
Saray has great potential due to its location and atmosphere, but we sincerely hope management addresses these service and billing issues to improve the dining experience for future guests.
