Boulangerie Patisserie Wellington — Restaurant in Montreal

Wow! So disappointed in the food, service and atmosphere. We went in on a Sunday morning, which makes this so much more surprising.

Walked in and the place smelled like really intense chemicals. Place was painful to breathe in and smelled like underlying armpits.

The man that greeted us seemed put off by us entering and was a bit aggressive. When my partner asked what a certain pastry was, he gave the name of it and no further information, giving us a “duh” look. It was not a typical one and I didn’t even know what it was.

We ate our apple “danish” and raisin bread in the car. It was SO dry. It tasted sour and had the stale consistency of left out pastry. They were very hard, chewy, dry and he bread was without any real flavour.

Truly disappointed we went and that all the reviews showed...

The most amazing bakery and owner ever! I went on Labour Day when all the grocery stores were closed. I was looking for baguettes but they had sold out. I bought 3 croisants and a packet of crepes and asked if he usually had baguettes, as I recalled he had. He said yes, but because of the holiday they had sold out early. I thanked him and on my way out he handed me a baguette. I said "what is this?" He said he had put it aside to take home himself but gave it to me instead and said it was free of charge, and then he walked in the back. I was dumbfounded. I have never met such a generous shop-owner in my life, who truly cares about his clients satisfaction. Thank you kind owner of this bakery. You deserve all the wonderful things in life! Great little bakery. I come here daily. I notice a lot of wasps which is typical of bakeries everywhere in the world except Canada so I take a few pictures to send to a few friends in another county.. Really nothing harmful at all. The guy working comes saying I need permission to film blablabla.. Treats me with complete disrespect. I mean really. He knows I'm filming the wasps who cares. Now that he treated with disrespect.. Maybe let everyone know. Just out of spite. None the less wasps in a bakery is not harmful at all. So not sure what his issue is. He needs some customer service lessons that's for sure.

Oh and employees not using any masks there or my vaccine passport was not checked when they do have...
