Souvlaki Bar - Verdun — Restaurant in Montreal

I used to think it was a great place but since the last eventI have to change my review...

I had a really unpleasant experience at your restaurant last Saturday 17nd June.

On June 17nd 2023 (my husband birthday's) his cousin reserved two tables for the eight of us (the family), she expressly told the person that tables should be one beside the other, since you didn't have a big table available.

My husband, my  9 year-old daugther and me, arrived first. I asked for the tables, and the employee for the entrand told me he had two tables, one behind the other, we tried to explain to him, he said no, this is what I have, I told you in the phone, I told him that he didn't spoke with me, we said to him that maybe we could move the tables, without been in the way, and he started to speak louder he said he could not do that, that he told me on the phone.

I felt really bad, even people for a near table start to looking at us, I don't think that he should act in the way he acted, he was very rude, we decided to go away, and my husband told me that he won't returned ever, even though that he loves your food (he pick your restaurant to celebrate...

Eh…I was a bit disappointed when we decided to come here for lunch. My partner and I are in town from NYC visiting family in the hospital so, we decided that this would be a good option for the day.

Once we arrived, I was impressed by the style of the place and the music…very inviting BUT there was no one working!! There were two tables that looked like they completed their food so, we waited for a few minutes…still NO ONE! No host/hostess or server…we walked towards the back of the restaurant and saw inside the kitchen…NO ONE! Suddenly, another couple walks in (about 5-8 minutes later) and then a guy walks out from the back looking like he had just waken up and was half sleep.

We decided to be seated. I ordered the Filet de Sole and sadly, it was not very good. The fish was SO BLAND and extremely fish-y tasting…I put salt on it which I NEVER use salt on my food. The salad dressing was not that good either. I would’ve preferred a simple oil, vinaigrette.

Needless to say, when I’m in Montreal I probably won’t be dining here again. Although, I did like the Greek music & the photos...

Was 5 stars based on service by Elias. However most recent experience changed that! Made a direct order online from there site.

The Hostess Nicandra was polite and professional, said that they did not have the order after her going back and forth 4 times! Asked for email confirmation which I presented. The Manager Case finally arrived to say they don't have the order and asked to see the payment as it could have been cancelled indicating that I was trying to pick up free food?

When I returned to show the payment was processed he disappeared again as if hiding. Afterward he reappeared with the receipt to say they just got it now.

It was sad that the hostess was more hands on then the so called Manager. Giving it 3 stars for the food and...
