Discriminatory Experience at Your Café
( The issue wasn’t about the bathroom policy—it was how we were treated compared to others, and the aggressive tone used when we weren’t even given a chance to explain. Being cut off and told to “go out now” in that manner was humiliating and WE WERE NOT OFFERED WITH ANY SERVICE TO ORDER.
Calling this experience “special and troubling” only proves why I felt the need to speak up. I’ll file a proper report soon to the manager JF.)
I’m writing this message with deep disappointment and sadness as a loyal customer who has visited your café regularly—especially since last summer, where my friends and I have often come to study and enjoy the space. ( see attached photo as the manager seems to doubt about it)
This afternoon, I experienced a level of discrimination and aggression that I’ve never encountered before. My friend and I were in a rush to use the washroom, intending to place our order immediately afterward, as we always do. While we were waiting in line, a barista with a mohawk haircut approached us and, in an aggressive tone, asked if we were customers. We answered honestly that we hadn’t ordered yet—but before we could explain anything further, he interrupted us, raised his voice, and shouted: “This is not a public bathroom! If you didn’t order, go out now! Go out!”
We were shocked and humiliated, and we left without even being given the opportunity to order. What deeply concerns me is that there were other individuals ahead of us in the washroom line who also hadn’t ordered—but he did not confront them or raise his voice at them in any way. This inconsistency in treatment made the experience feel targeted, unfair, and discriminatory.
This is not just disappointing—it’s unacceptable behavior, especially from staff representing a café that has otherwise always felt welcoming and warm. I have had many positive interactions with other baristas at your location, which makes this incident all the more upsetting.
I hope this matter is taken seriously. If it is not addressed appropriately, I will be moving forward with a formal discrimination report.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I truly hope steps are taken to ensure that no one else is treated this way...
Read moreI was unimpressed by this as a cafe. The hot chocolate although good for those that want more authentic hot chocolate was rather surprsing. I was fine with out the sugar, but it seemed to be with out milk too. The tuna sandwhich was not worth the price, nor was I expecting it to be warm and the salad was overly sour. The desserts were too sweet. The service was very good, but the tables were too close together for real table service. Its...
Read moreTres tres mauvaise adresse !
