I had heard great things about this place from people I know and reviews I’ve read online. Some people even claimed they were the best sushi in Montreal. My expectations were very high and I really wanted to love Saint Sushi but was left disappointed. They have no alcohol permit, a weird ambiance (granted it was a Tuesday night) and the service was very robotic (our waiter was nice, but so quiet we could barely hear what she was saying). We also wish they offered a dessert (not even matcha ice cream). The flavors were good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The portions were okay and the rice on some of the rolls was very dry and hard which did not hold together. I’d say that price is a bit higher than average. Overall, for one of the “best sushi in Montreal”, we expected much better. There are better options out there! :(

I went in with high hopes, was totally disappointed by the menu as it had no pictures whatsoever, even though it was all digital by scanning a QR code. I thought I'm going to end up giving it a 1 or 2 stars rating because the manager interrupted the waiter while taking our order several times... We ordered a couple rolls to test the waters, and let me tell you, the service was quick, and the food was absolutely AMAZING! We ended up making a full order with appetizers as well! I've been close to a 100 sushi places in multiple countries, and this is the best hands down! The waiters always had a smile even when I complained about the menu having no pictures. Totally recommended!

One of the best sushi spots in MTL if not the best. Tried couple other spots but this one stands out, flavours wise. Started with the Christmas tree appetizer which is the tartare (salmon, shrimp and crab) the flavour were perfectly balanced. They brought us a shrimp tempura on the sticks as a compensation because it actually took around an hour before we had any food on the table but that’s because they were short on staff. And it was amazing. The main were makis, had the Michael jackson, beatles, marvin gaye, sensei and the yann. All of them i would recommend the sensei as a first choice but all of them were extremely good if i could give 6 stars, i would.

My boyfriend and I had a terrible experience here. We came after the place we were going to go to ended up being closed. We sat at the bar. We asked the server for recommendations and he recommended one of the tasting menu options so we said ok and chose that. From the moment we arrived there was a big plate (testing menu option) at the bar (where the chefs also prepare the sushi). It was already there when we sat down, at first I didn't think anything of it because again that is where they prepare the sushi. But after we had been there for 20 min I started feeling bad for the person who ordered it or thinking that maybe they prepared the wrong plate or someone and were going to throw it out. It was right in front of us. About 30 min after we order the chef added one more role to the plate and to our total surprise they served it to us. We were both kinda shocked and my boyfriend joked to the server that they knew what we wanted before we arrived and they brushed of off. We sat there stunned for a few minutes not wanting to eat because we did not know how long it had been sitting there (again it was there at the bar since before we sat down, obviously before we ordered, it hadn't moved we'd been sitting there the whole time). Neither of us like to bring problems so we awkwardly sat there for a while before i told the server that we had been sitting there the entire time and asked why they served it to us but they said no its fresh we didn't prepare it til after you ordered.

It was so late and we were so hungry (we waited a long time especially considering the entire plate was ready the moment we sat down) and we didn't want to cause a seen so we ate what they served us. As for the food, it was fine but we couldn't really enjoy it wondering if we were gonna end up with food poising not knowing how long the raw fish had been sitting out at room temp.

We brought it up again later and they all kept saying the same thing, it was so awkward and uncomfortable and I felt totally disrespected. We paid and left. $100+ for someones rejected plate or canceled order or whatever.

My problem is how could they do this so blatantly and shamelessly in front of us. If they are willing to do this to people sitting at the bar watching what they do then I don't even want to think about what they are willing to serve people at tables that don't have a view to what they're doing. Don't eat here if you know 100% you're getting freshly...

I had some friends from out of town come visit montreal and we were looking to have some sushi. We came across Saint Sushi Plateau, it had great reviews, we decided to try it. We arrived for early dinner yesterday, group of 4 and we were great by a nice gentleman by the name Sang, he was very welcoming and proved to be quite knowledgeable in the different types of Sake. He ans his colleague whom I unfortunately don't have his name were doing an amazing job taking care of the customers in the dinning room, my friends and I were amazed at the level of service here. The food arrived....exquisite! Beautiful flavors and presentation and the Sake! At the end of the meal when we were wrapping this up, I congratulated Sang and his colleague on an amazing evening and top notch service...oh we also loved the Playlist lol. It turns out Sang is the owner and his colleague is his childhood bes friend. They have been working together ever since the resto opened and you can tell the genuine gratitude in Sang's eyes when I congratulated him on his accomplishment and success. Sushi Saint Plateau is a definite must if you love Sushi, a warm atmosphere and friendly service. Also I must mention, my daughter was inamored with the water bottles there that had smiling fish on them...one of my friends asked Sang if it was possible to have a bottle because my daughter just loved it and he immediately and very graciously placed it in a bag to go for her. I was so impressed with this. Sang I have been singing your praises to my family and will definitely come back. Never change who you are, the world needs more kind good hearted people like you brother. See you soon! I guess by now you surely remember...

Very dissatisfied First bad sign was when no one spoke Japanese To Start-up I'd like to mention I work at a Sushi Resteraunt in Boston, so I know at least a little about sushi. Friendly enough waitress, but seemed to resent seating us even though there was plenty of seating. We were told it was full with reservations in an hour and 15 minutes, so we'd surely be done by then. We order our food and I get the sampler. Initial sashimi is very good. Usually I dislike when places mess with the raw fish- but the vinageret matched the temperature and brought out extra flavor, well done. The rest of the order did not come out for another hour. I had to call over the chef to ask where the food was. The lobster Christmas tree was TERRIBLE. 60% MAYO, 25% avacado. And 5%tasteless lobster. So at this point it's been over an hoir, and my girlfriend has still not got her 2 vegetable Maki. I call the chef back over and ask what's going on. He brings my last plate out a few minutes later. I realize that my plate has been sitting there for 50 minutes on the counter. I let the chef know it's very warm and starting to change color . All he says is " it's fresh we keep it in the fridge display" I try to explain the health violation. He goes and turns on the AC instead.

I understand sushi should be served at a warm temperature for flavors to come out, but it was stale at this point

The rest of the sampler was several Maki rolls which all tasted like 70% Mayo and 30% avacado Overall very dissatisfied And I threw up immediately when I left

This resteraunt should be called Asian Fusion, because it's not...
