Café des Amis - Pavillon du Lac-aux-Castors — Restaurant in Montreal

I was looking forward to trying this place and really wanted to like it since I’m on the mountain almost every day and was hoping to find a place to bring my friends. Sadly, I was profoundly disappointed. It was worst restaurant meal I’ve ever had. It was in edible and that’s saying a lot considering I like just about everything. It was a vegan sandwich that was described as having roasted vegetables that were ice cold. The bun was overly bready, dry and cold. It was slathered with some kind of mustard sauce that was called vegan mayonnaise. Absolutely horrible. With a coffee and a small bowl of soup this cost $30 !!!!! Horrible horrible place! Avoid it at any cost!!! After 20 minutes of waiting in line we were able to order some meals and a capuccino. The waitress took our order without any problem. We gave tips as well. After 35 minutes of waiting our pager was flashing. It turned out that the kitchen has closed and we won't even get our meals and still have to wait for the capuccino. They gave the money back for the meals, but not the amount of the tip! Even though it was calculated for the whole amount since we gave a percentage. Honestly they wouldn't have even deserved the tip because of the slowness and the misinformation. Edit after receiving reply: it is not good customer service to tell me the kitchen is closed without offering the available alternative and it is kind of silly to suggest that a bagel with some smoked salmon is more difficult or requires more equipment than a hot grilled cheese, but that's not my business. Either way the customer service was lame, the cup size meager, and the prices seemed exploitative.
