One of several in town. In terms of coffee pretty standard but their hot chocolate is a whole different ball game. A clean, cozy interior, and very conveniently placed next to station metro Jarry. Has great bench seating next to the window and table spaces to sit down and read. There are several cafes in the vicinity of Cremazie and Jarry, and Larue & Fils definitely holds cafe supremacy in this little sector of Montreal. If you need a quick hot chocolate boost on a cold day - this is the place.

I regularly get my coffee from Café Larue Their coffee choices are excellent, with a rich flavor and perfect balance. The service was also commendable; However, despite the great coffee there were a few aspects that could use improvement. Overall, it's a decent spot for a quick coffee break, thanks to the wonderful coffee and crew, but there are areas that could enhance the overall experience. Hence, I’m giving it 3 stars.

Delicious coffee and hot chocolate. The place is beautiful and the music is nice. Not giving 5 stars due to the barista, we went in 45 min before closing and he seemed bothered that we ordered our drink to stay in. Never smiled nor made eye contact.

I went in to get some coffee ground today and bought a coffee while I was at it. The barista says she can't do it because the 'oils' of the coffee don't match the brand of coffee they carry and would thus, break their machine. What? The way I was told was dismissive and it felt like a fake excuse to stop me going there. It worked! It's a nice place, usually the staff is nice, but on this occasion she referred to me as 'your the one who came in last week to grind coffee'. I felt embarrassed. I realize its frowned on to bring beans from elsewhere, but the excuse was not valid. I would've preferred to have been told, 'we can't grind your coffee since you didn't...

Coffee is super subjective, so this is just my opinion I really found the espresso to be uninspiring! It lacks any sort of depth, it just tastes like classic Italian style coffee with added latte art to make it third wave. I understand dark roasts are the most people pleasing but I really feel like the roast could use a hint of brightness (it lacks a contemporary touch). I gave this place 3 stars because the service is fine and it is aesthetically pleasing, nothing about this place was offensive. I just don't think the coffee was anything I'd...

I was in the area and decided to stop for a quick coffee. Unfortunately, after waiting in line for a good 10 min., I noticed a sign by the cashier indicating no credit cards. I didn’t have cash or debit with me (I never do) so I had to leave. I cannot comment on food or drinks. The barista is the cashier too, so you will likely find a line and will have to wait a bit as I did. Interior looked ok, nothing special. Tables were quite close to each other. Several taken by students or people working,...
