I went in to get some coffee ground today and bought a coffee while I was at it. The barista says she can't do it because the 'oils' of the coffee don't match the brand of coffee they carry and would thus, break their machine. What? The way I was told was dismissive and it felt like a fake excuse to stop me going there. It worked! It's a nice place, usually the staff is nice, but on this occasion she referred to me as 'your the one who came in last week to grind coffee'. I felt embarrassed. It lacks any sort of depth, it just tastes like classic Italian style coffee with added latte art to make it third wave. I understand dark roasts are the most people pleasing but I really feel like the roast could use a hint of brightness (it lacks a contemporary touch).
