During the last day of the big Hydro-Quebec power outage of April 2023, we decided to visit the Quebec Deli for lunch.
When we arrived, it was actually not very busy and so there was one server handling all of the tables for the entire restaurant.
We were directed to choose our own table and after sitting down and waiting for about 15 minutes, we had to go find the server and remind her that we were there.
In about 5 more minutes the server came to take our order and went away. She never returned with our drinks.
After another 25-30 minutes of waiting, we again got up to find her and she said 5 more minutes.
In another 10 minutes, one of the 3 dishes was delivered to the table. Still no drinks.
Another 5-10 minutes went by and two more dishes arrived. We were still missing one pizza and still had no drinks. This time I asked about the drinks and she realized she hadn't brought them.
Finally the last dish arrived and then a few minutes later the drinks finally made it.
The server asked if I would like parmesan cheese for my spaghetti and I said yes. She finally brought it out 10 minutes later.
The food was all actually very good, and we enjoyed our meals.
The server never returned to ask if everything was okay, and then never returned until we went to find her yet again to pay.
We explained that we wanted to split the bill and that was fine. But, again, she never brought the bills.
Finally, we got up and went to the register to pay. She was very nice and talkative and took quite a long time to process our two payments.
This could've been a much more enjoyable experience, but the slow service made it...
Read moreEdit: updating my review to 2 stars after an experience last night. I made a pick up order through door dash for 2 smoked meat trios and when I came to pick up my order I was told I was supposed to bring my own bag for the food to bring home? I walked there from my house and didn't even bring a purse with me. I offered to walk back to my house to grab a bag so I can take the food but the server decided to give me one in the end, but only after giving me hell. I have never experienced this in my entire life and I even worked in restaurants myself. The manager was telling the server to not give out bags to paying customers for whatever reason I really do not understand. This is not how you keep happy customers by micro managing such small things as a paper bag for pick up customers. They also forgot one of my drinks for the trio. You just lost a loyal customer who lives right by and was always recommending this restaurant. Not anymore after this experience, I will go elsewhere.
Tried this spot after moving to the area. Was blown away! We ordered the pork pitas and some calamari and it was cooled absolutely perfectly! Generous portions and arrived quickly. The prices are a tad bit high but with the quality of food you receive it's worth it. The sauce for the calamari tasted delicious. We will...
Read moreDo not recommend Quebec Deli at all. There are many better options nearby, for cheaper and better quality. Try corvette or le toasteur for brunch. For similar menu, try la belle province, pizza villeray or pizza campanello.
My experience on a sunday at 12pm. I ordered ‘the new yorker’ for brunch and the potatoes were very under cooked and the bacon was burnt and it was missing the beans. They also never brought the pancake that was included in the meal and when we asked if they could just deduct it from the price because we had an appointment to get to, they said they would still charge us for it even though they never brought it. So we asked for it to go. 10 minutes later they come back to say they don’t have pancake batter so offered a french toast instead. When it came time to pay, they charged me for ‘the new yorker’ even though they served me ‘the jarry’. The new yorker is more expensive and includes the beans which i never got. When i asked the server to charge me for the jarry she said it wasn’t possible. Incredibly disorganized, overpriced, and the food was awful. Every time i try to give this place a chance again it never fails...
