Disappointing Experience at Chungchun Korean Rice Dog in Montreal
As someone from Toronto who has enjoyed Korean rice dogs for the past two years, I was incredibly disappointed by my experience at Chungchun in Montreal. I’m very familiar with franchises like Myungrang, Mana, Arirang, and other Chungchun locations, so I know what authentic Korean rice dogs should look and taste like. Unfortunately, this location missed the mark on every level.
The quality of the food was far below standard. They served a basic, cheap grocery store hotdog wrapped in bland breading, with grocery store mozzarella cheese that was equally uninspiring—bland and lacking the signature flavor. The portion sizes were also shockingly small, with the food covering only 1/4 to 1/2 of the stick, compared to the 3/4 full sticks I’ve come to expect.
The issues didn’t stop there. The box wrapping wasn’t the standard packaging provided by the Chungchun franchise, making it feel even less authentic. The sauces were not spread on top like every other Korean rice dog place do, and the staff didn’t even seem to know about dipping the rice dogs in white...
