Lundis au soleil — Restaurant in Montreal

As someone who has recently started working from Lundis au Soleil on weekdays with a friend, I can confidently say it has become my favorite café in Montreal. Each visit strikes the perfect balance between productivity and relaxation, making it my go-to spot for getting work done outside of home. From the cozy ambiance to the delicious food and drinks, it’s the ideal place to spend a few hours.

There’s a long bar area that’s perfect for solo work or enjoying a coffee while people-watching. For a more intimate feel, the cozy booth benches are ideal for chatting with a friend or diving into work. If you’re seeking a romantic setting, small, tucked-away tables provide the perfect ambiance for a date. Whether you’re here to work, relax, or connect with someone, there’s a seating arrangement to suit every mood.

Service (5/5) It has the feel of a neighborhood gem where the staff remembers your name and makes you feel right at home. The service is both friendly and efficient, which I particularly appreciate when I’m trying to stay productive. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, always ready to offer suggestions or engage in light conversation when asked. I’ve never had trouble finding a seat, and I’ve always been able to enjoy my time here in peace, making it a great spot for focused work or quiet conversations.

Food and Drink (5/5) The food and drink options at Lundis au Soleil are nothing short of outstanding. One of the things I love is their ever-changing special menu, which ensures there’s always something new to try. Whether you’re craving a light breakfast, a hearty lunch, or a refreshing coffee to power through your afternoon, you’ll find something that hits the spot. • Lunch Options: I often go for their soup specials, which are always delicious. Today, I had a fantastic mushroom soup, and the seasonal produce ensures that the veggies are always fresh. • Beverages: The coffee here is consistently excellent. From smooth lattes to rich matcha drinks, each cup is a treat.

Overall Experience (5/5) Lundis au Soleil has quickly become a staple in my routine, and it’s easy to see why. The inviting, plant-filled atmosphere, combined with comfortable seating options (whether you’re here to work or simply unwind), and consistently excellent food and drinks make it a standout café in Montreal. It’s the perfect place for working with a friend, enjoying a light meal, or even having a quiet, intimate date. The bread was dry and stale, and did not come with butter (I had to ask for the waitress for it). The vegetables were undercooked and hard. This was especially the case for the butternut squash and potatoes. The fish was chewy, fatty, and had a rubbery texture. All the sauces or cream meant to be in the dishes were served in a blob on the side of the plate, not directly on the food. The presentation of the food was aesthetically pleasing, but the taste left much to be desired in my opinion. My friend, on the hand, really liked the food.

In more words: A really relaxed vibe, with simple but tasteful decor. Lighting is perfect for an intimate dinner for two or for a nice evening with friends!

The food is divine but since they switch their menu weekly there is not much point in describing specific dishes. I will say though that we ordered most of the menu and absolutely loved everything!

The service was also excellent. Our waitress was very pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu, and had the knack of showing up at the right moment each time (a rare and appreciated skill in my opinion when it comes to waiting tables)
