We had dinner at Min.T in Lasalle last night, and it completely exceeded our expectations! My partner, our two kids (5 and 2), and I dined in for supper, and everything from the food to the service was perfect. I don’t think any review will do it justice.
We ordered the Banh Mi (crispy pork), which was absolutely delicious. The lacquered pork ribs, honestly, the best ever! The Pho Bo was pure comfort, rich, fragrant, and perfectly balanced. The broth tasted slow-simmered with layers of flavour, and every spoonful felt soothing. And the Kimchi Korean dish that hit all the right notes. We also had two amazing mocktails. We tried all three desserts. The fruit tartelette was our favourite, followed by the chocolate cake and cheesecake brûlée. Every single item was incredible and made us want to try the entire menu.
It’s not your typical Vietnamese restaurant. You can tell right away that the ingredients are fresh and that a lot of care goes into every dish. The flavours are balanced and vibrant, and the presentation is beautiful. Even though it’s a small family-run place, the service was so smooth, and there was practically no waiting for anything, which is a big plus when you have little ones.
The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and modern, and it’s clear they pay attention to every detail. It’s close to home for us, and we’re so happy to have found this gem in Lasalle. We’ll definitely be coming back. (again and...
Read moreOh, happy day - Vietnamese food in LaSalle. :) Realllly good, fresh, generous portions, and did I mention GOOD? I almost don't want to write a glowing review because then this place won't remain a bit of a secret but it deserves to be known and the owners' efforts recognized.
We were pleased to see the small premises nearly empty at 8pm on a weekday, as it must be a bit loud when it fills up. The decor is sorta Scand-y clean lines and impeccably kept, clean clean clean. Service is attentive and caring, from the heart.
So grateful for the vegetarian options - the tofu bánh mì is hands down the best I've ever had and next time I'm taking a Tupperware to take half home because, yeah, there's enough fresh stuff jammed in the sandwich to make two meals. Ended up taking the Garden Bowl home, enjoyed that the next day - interesting sauce, original flavours. I'd appreciate some tofu in it, too, but maybe that's just me.
Others said the chicken soup was the best they'd ever tasted, even counting what they'd eaten in Vietnam. The cheesecake brûlée was different, perhaps would have been better had we eaten it the same day, not the day after.
All in all, a delightful find and I hope it sticks around because we...
Read moreThis review is coming from a good place I truly want this pho spot to succeed as LaSalle is truly indeed of one however I’m giving a honest review to improve based off my experience.
After reading all the positive reviews on Google and Facebook, I decided to give this place a try. I've had my fair share of pho and bánh mì, so I was hopeful—but unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to the hype.
I ordered the chicken pho and chicken bánh mì, and I was quite disappointed. The pho came with shredded chicken breast, which I found underwhelming—pho gà is typically much better with grilled chicken or more flavorful cuts of chicken. Worse, the broth tasted off; it lacked the depth and richness that defines a good pho. Something was definitely missing.
As for the bánh mì, it was just as underwhelming—dry and lacking the balance of flavors and textures that make the sandwich so special.
I strongly urge the owner to visit some pho spots in downtown Montreal to get a sense of the standard and quality customers expect.
The only item I truly enjoyed was the spring rolls, which were fresh and flavorful—this is the reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1.
