We drove down to Verdun and visited a classic casse-croûte established in 1958. Impeccable fries with the slightest crunch to them. A classic sauce that doesn't try too hard to be special and reinvent poutine. Cheese at the perfect temperature before being added so it doesn't melt but also isn't cold... This Poutine is pure. Flawless.

The Hot dogs were the ideal size in our opinion, big enough for 2 to be filling and somehow tastes fresher than hotdogs usually do; we're not sure if that's due to the bread or the sausage itself.

We loved the food but what's really special and unique about Paul Patates is their homemade spruce beer! A recipe from 1898 - We didn't know spruce beer could taste that good. We were previously used to the run-of-the-mill grocery store soda type and we don't even know where to start describing how much better this is. You'll just have to go try...

This place has the distinction of being a favorite spot for Celine Dion and many other famous Canadian and international celebrities. Here, you’re in for one of the most delicious burgers and poutines of your life, all while enjoying a warm and cozy local atmosphere.

Jacqueline is always ready to welcome you with her warm smile and hospitable personality, and she always remembers your favorite order. She prepares her handmade burgers with love, offering a unique flavor that sets them apart from any other burger. The fries used for the poutine are freshly made on-site, which, in my opinion, is a big plus. The setting is local, incredibly welcoming, and her young, friendly staff are both...

Great poutine has to balance 3 great elements, fries, sauce and squeaky curds. Some places put too many curds on top. Some don't know how to make their fries crispy. And we've all has that horrible chemical taste from bad sauce.

Well.... this is one of the places that has learnt to balance the 3 very well. The sauce is tasty and there is just enough of it. The curds are good and there aren't too many or too few. But the real star here... the fries. These are great fries!

So if you are driving by and wondering should I stop, the answer is... YES. For fries or a poutine. Because on this side of town, this is a...

I read an article about places where locals love to eat, so I decided to check it out. The diner was retro-looking, the employees were friendly, and the food was very good. As you can see, they give you a good deal of food for your money. It was the first time we tried the spruce beer, which was an acquired taste. Not saying it was bad, but it took me a minute to get used to it. Overall, I am very glad we stopped by for a quick bite before our long trip back home.
