PREZZE MOLLO — Restaurant in Montreal

Had lunch at Prezzemolo, and I have to say—I was genuinely at a loss for words at how incredible the food was. I started with the olives, crudités, and fried chicken, and wow—unbelievable. The chicken was perfectly crispy, served with a spicy green “Prezze sauce” that paired beautifully. The crudités came with an artichoke dip unlike anything I’ve ever tasted—rich, flavorful, and truly unique. The assorted olives were delicious, and I appreciated that they weren’t pitted, which added a rustic touch you don’t often find in restaurants.

I ended up reordering the crudités (they were that good) and also tried the “All Dressed” focaccia sandwich. This was, without exaggeration, one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The focaccia was warm, slightly crisp on the outside, and delightfully chewy in the middle, with just the right amount of salt. Every element in the sandwich was perfectly balanced—the flavors, textures, and freshness were spot on.

The service was excellent—attentive without being overbearing—and the food came out surprisingly fast, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

To drink, I had a cold Moretti beer on tap, which was refreshing and paired well with the meal. I also tried the Zagara dirty martini, which had a lovely orange undertone that gave it a unique, citrusy twist.

For dessert, I finished with the pistachio affogato—hands down the best pistachio ice cream I’ve ever had. It came with a generous portion of raw pistachios on the side, which added a wonderful crunch and nuttiness.

Menu is short and sweet, it feels like they do a small number of dishes but make each of them very good. And indeed the food tasted very good, but the portions were small, very small. Took the risotto and the torta caprese, both were very good!

While the room itself has style, it is noisy. Mostly due to a busy day with many patrons (a good problem to have for a new place!), but also due to the fact that the kitchen (and its inevitable noise) is out...

An absolute must try restaurant! We were really looking forward to visiting Prezze Mollo and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely fantastic. The carbonara rockefeller oyster and fresh, made on-site pasta dishes were amongst some of the best food I've had in a while. The service was fantastic, delicious cocktails and a lovely wine list.
