I'd like to write about my amazing first time experience dealing with Raging Reef. I was on the look out for a rare flashing tilefish and saw that this store recently had some in stock. Unfortunately, by the time I had called, they had already sold out of this very popular fish. Out of pure kindness, Raja, the owner of the store said that he had one left in his store's display tank that he was willing to sell me. The kind gesture of willing to selling me a fish reserved for a display tank made me realize just how wonderful the store treats their customers (whether old or new).
Before shipping the fish to me, Raja made sure it was eating and gaining weight. As you know, shipping can be quite stressful for fish, so he wanted to make sure the fish would not only survive the trip, but also thrive in my tank. I am happy to say that the tilefish is doing amazing.
What made my dealings with Raging Reef even sweeter, was that he was able to offer me the fish for a great deal with free shipping included. The attention to detail while packaging my shipment, was quite evident. The heat pack was still nice and warm, the fish was triple bagged and was covered in a nice warm heated wrapper. You could tell they care about what they do, their fish and their customers! To top it all off, Raja threw in a free container of Fauna Marin fish food. How sweet!!

Read moreWent and visited store - staff were inattentive and uninterested in helping. Overall impression was that customers were more of an annoyance, to their life.
After searching a lack luster selection of corals - I settled on one. One of the sales people advised me, it was 2 heads and off I went.
I drove 2hrs back home - and by the time I got coral acclimated and dipped, was already looking weak. By the next day, torch had bailed. All that was left - was a single head. I wasn't impressed, I was charged for 2.
I posted a review on their FB and owners "Raja" messaged me, all upset about my honest review. No offer to replace or refund me for the dead coral...Id just bought.
Few weeks later - owner then started calling out those who comment on less than stellar experiences- as "Karen & Kens". Shows the true professonalism and maturity of these shop owner. Save yourself the hassle - and money, and deal with a reef shop, that cates for its customers. Won't be dealing with this reef...
Read moreThey obviously know what they’re doing but my experience has been mixed. The advice I received was great but I purchased an auto top off and a piece was missing inside the open box, it was probably cannibalized for another purpose. A few days ago I wanted to get my water tested and arrived 20 mins before closing. When I asked to have my water tested, the reply I received was: « we’re closing soon » Looked at my watch and asked how long it takes to test water… « 15 to 20 mins » Look at my watch again… « We’re in the process of closing » At that point my brain wasn’t processing and I simply walked out. I probably won’t be going back.
Edit: I guess this situation repeats itself often, but I did get there 20 mins before closing and if I was a little agressive, it was the disbelief that a customer would be turned away like that, without offering to perform the get the...
