Many years ago, this restaurant would have been unremarkable, in every possible way. Hardworking people, slinging good, reasonably priced diner fare in a paradise of fake wood-grain, beige linoleum, brown vinyl and chrome accents. Dishrag coffee would arrive without your asking for it. You wouldn't need more than a sidelong glance at the dog-eared, de-laminating menu in the loop, atop the stainless steel condiment tray before mouthing your order: "Two eggs - over easy - bacon - sausage - brown bread, please."
And it would be good. It wouldn't blow your mind or anything but it would be right.
