This restaurant is located in Saint-Michel area, in this part of Montreal, the population are quite diverse, just like a United nations. It has free parking Infront of the restaurant and more free parking are available on the right hand side. The restaurant specialised in Chinese cuisne chiu chao style and Thai, it's clientel are mostly asian, what that means is this is a authentic chinese restaurant that serve authentic traditional dishes, it is a relatively big restaurant, its capacity is around 200 People, it's decor are simple and traditional, it has 20+ tables, most are bigger round table for the whole family. As for the food, we ordered 4 specialty dishes like Boneless chicken feet,Thai style, it is quite spicy and serve with alot of onion , coriander, shredded mini pepper and shallots, another dish is Tong choi (hollow vegetable) with fermented chinese cheese (fu yu), this one is ok, the third and fourth dishes that we ordered is the fresh clams in black bean sauce and boiled beef with house soya sauce, these two dishes both are excellent, our family had downed 2-3 bowls of steamed rice for that, overall the food is good, we really enjoyed it, I will recommend this restaurant for anyone that likes...
Read moreToday is 25 December 2024 . I was with my wife and my parents. I thought I would have a good experience at the first time visiting the new Kim Hour restaurant at Jarry street. But It was so disappointed. The waitress was so rude. They raised their voices to order me to move the rice bowl so they could have space to place the food… I was so disappointed. Why could they do that to the customers. First we were entering they greeted us with their cold faces and after 30 minutes the food came out but COLD… maybe just like the service…when I pay they remind me that the bill was not included the tips. Seemed like don’t forget to pay for the tip 😡 and again with high tone… OMG I am speechless and I give them 15% tips like usual but I had a very very bad experience for the Christmas Day and I hope they will learn how to serve people. And DO NOT SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE BEHIND THE CUSTOMER. I swear I will...
Read moreFood is sub par. Feels and tastes like buffet food. Restaurant seems there’s No attention or focus on food quality.
Giving 2 stars because the price is affordable . It’s worth it if you dont care at all about the quality/taste/freshness. Otherwise, this is far from what Khmer food is.
We ordered salt and pepper pork chops(tasted ok), chicken mayo (stale and chewy chicken), boulettes de crevettes frite (tasted mostly chewy ground pork, barely any shrimp texture). Salt fish and chicken fried rice (I had no salt fish at all, taste was alright). Chicken cha kroeung, meh didn’t taste the kroeung, so watery, and chicken seems like the pre boiled type chicken.
I recommend paying a bit more and heading over to wing phat few blocks down Jarry street instead. Bit more pricey but so much tastier.
Placee order over the phone. Not impressed with...
