Food was OK, not as per restaurant standards., may be I had higher expectations by reading others reviews but it isn't the way. I find many other indian restaurant in downtown montreal which serve much better food and also have 200 times better customer service. When we were assigned a table there were 4 appetizer plates on table but we were 6, they didn't even bother to switch to dinner plates., forget about that., she brought the food and then when we asked her to get us 2 extra plates., such a lazy lady - she brought another 2 small appetizer plates. May be that's what they call dinner plates in their restaurant may be. Simply lazy attitude unnecessarily when the entire restaurant was empty except 6 of us at around 5pm. She didn't even bother to check on us and we had to keep on raising our hands to ask for things and out of no where she herself adds 15% tip on our bill for what disgusting service. I am also the last person to go online and waste my precious time on such cheap things which at the end of the day don't matter much to me but this time I couldn't resist. May be she misunderstood me., I am among those people who end up paying 20% tip as well on excellent food and customer service but for this it was annoying. I dine out quite often in different places and I very well understand the structure how it works. My advice to anybody who is looking for authentic indian food, stay away from this restaurant as the people who serve food here lack...

Highly not recommended! I went over there with my family for lunch, surprisingly thing is the name of the restaurant is “Sandhu Restaurant “ which is Indian for sure so we were happy because we went to Montreal for the first time, but their staff doesn’t speak English which could be fine that’s ok. After our lunch when we asked for the bill, the girl whoever she was, gave us to pay in French with a 15% tip. When I asked if I could customize the tip according to my will, she said “Mr Sandhu said it is mandatory to pay tip which we have already settled up. When I requested again, she snatched the Tap machine and replied I am gonna call Mr. Sandhu which was so rude. I wanted to pay the tip but the way she asked for it, by saying this it is mandatory and you have to pay this but then snatching the Tap machine made me so mad. After 5-10 minutes she came back with Mr. Sandhu who was a chef, and he was not Mr. Sandhu. According to him it is not mandatory, we can skip this part too , wowww I respect their hard work but I think they should tell all the customers before serving them so they’ll not get surprised by compulsory WORD.. please change your attitude whoever you...

Went a few days after New Years, The table d'hote options from their website were reduced and they were only offering only a holiday versions menu with limited options, My friends and I chose the Indian mixed sampler of 5 small metal containers with 3 vegetable and rice with 2 meat chicken and beef all served on a bigger metal round tray with some very good nan bread. Everything was reheated and standard fare, not bad but nothing exiteing, metal containers did nothing to keep the food hot, all the food was cold within minutes of being served. I would of personally preferred to have been served with ceramic common bowls onto a ceramic plate to keep the heat, and the metal trays were reminiscent of a high school cafeteria. I was kind of hoping to have a delicious Indian dessert but the server just brought out slices of Tiramisu, no coffee or tea offered. All and all the food was just ok , underwhelming, had better. Service good, and price leaning to expensive ....

Pleasant surprise...when a restaurant sells itself as a " fine Italian/Indian cuisine", it's easy to be skeptical. How can a restaurant do both of these radically different styles of cuisine? This restaurant is not the best Italian resto, and it isn't the best Indian resto either...they do however manage to do both fairly well. We had the vegetarian calzone, which was quite large and well stuffed with veggies and cheese. We also had a vegetable biryani, and an Indian Thali (a mix of different indian items). The biryani was good, very colourful, aromatic and simply delicious. The thali was overall good, but we found that none of the items were really warm...the food was at room temperature. The thali was tasty, just wished it had been warmer. So this place is worth trying, especially if you're the indecisive kind of person, who can't choose between pizza, pasta or samosas and biryani.

After having an amazing experience at India Rosa, we decided to try Restaurant Sandhu (the owners are the same). I must say, it was a good experience. Specially the naan and the drinks held the same standard (FREAKIN DELICIOUS). We ordered the veg thali, it was really good but very low on spices for our indian taste buds. We told the server to make it spicy but it was still a bit bland for us. Finally, The samosas and the fish tikka blew our minds away! So fresh and yummy! The service was really sweet too. Overall, I would recommend this place if you don’t like to eat too much spicy food but still want a taste of authentic Indian cuisine :)

We had a very pleasant surprise. When we saw thar their menu was half Italian half Indian, we hoped that they had truly authentic Indian flavors. They did not disappoint. Wow. From the moment you enter you get the delicious smell coming from their kitchen . The food was perfect. I would love to see that their main dishes will come with rice or naan bread , but we ordered the sampler plater and ended up ordering more naan. If we were locals we would definitely visit them once a week. The service was perfect given the fact that there was only one server and 2 tables. The place is elegant and clean. Thank you.
