Aiko Sushi — Restaurant in Montreal

I'm from Ottawa and came to Montreal for vacation. I was craving sushi and a friend of mine recommended this restaurant to me. I got the Special Aiko, Dragon Eyes, Poke Salmon Bowl, and Deep Fried Banana.

Special Aiko is a rice wrap sushi, which I thought was unique and innovative! It had crab meat, salmon and shrimp tempura. All ingredients tasted fresh. It came with soya sauce. It was delicious 🤤. It had a zesty flavour to it which I loved. I highly recommend this sushi. 👍 👍 👍👍👍

Dragon Eyes Roll is a deep fried Roll. It is a two bite roll. That was very yummy sushi too. It had salmon, carrots and green onion. The green onion made it very flavourful. It came with a spicy mayo sauce which adds more to the flavor too. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Salmon Poke Bowl is a good size. It was the first thing I ate and it got me full pretty quickly. It had 🥭, 🥒, 🥬, 🥑, and Salmon. It came with sauces. It was very tasty! It had a zesty flavor to it too. I loved it and it was affordable.

Deep Fried Banana was fantastic. It came with two. It was a good size and hit the sweet spot.

Customer service was excellent. I ordered my food via phone. They were friendly and got my order. The delivery man arrived in a timely manner.

Ordered for a pick up on a friday night... Didn't take long, but half of our order was missing! Thankfully, we called the store (it was now after their open hours) and the clerk was extremely apologetic and understanding. The chef gave us a complimentary salad and a sushi cone for the inconvenience.

The price was ok but the sushis were too big (with wayyy too much rice), they didn't hold together and were breaking into pieces, the fish wasn't very fresh and overall, it simply wasn't very tasty. Not to mention that they barely provided enough ginger for a third of our order.

On a good note: their wasabi was POWERFUL as all hell! You gotta love that!!

I'd give 4.5, but I can't, so it's gonna be 5! We've been taking out from here for 5 years. Is it amazing? No. But I have yet to find AMAZING sushi in Montreal. What Aiko is is CONSISTENT. The price is very fair, the amount of fish is always really good (especially for salmon), and ordering for pick-up is generally pretty quick. Sometimes we ask to leave ingredients out and they always oblige. I don't think they've made a mistake on our order even once (and we've eaten here a lot).. (too much).
