Restaurant Shekz — Restaurant in Montreal

First, I would like to write that my wife loves this restaurant and goes here regularly, she can't say enough good things about it.

I did not enjoy my evening here. I booked the room for our group of 35 people. The food is amazing, both the Italian and the Asian menus are well prepared so you can't go wrong.

The waiter kept speaking to us in Italian even after being told that we did not speak Italian. We tried speaking in French and English to ask about the menu but he kept replying in Italian which was really annoying. 20 out of the 35 found the service slow, and we brought our own cake and we were not served the dessert that we paid for by ordering off the table d'hote.

The worst thing though was when my vegetarian friend asked time and time again about the vegetarian options and the waiter suggested the arancini (the fried rice ball) and was adamant about it being meat free. Well she took a bite out of it and there was minced meat in it. The waiter then went to ask the kitchen staff if there was meat in it and indeed there was meat and cheese. He didn't even apologize about it. Not only that but he kept making jabs at her throughout the night telling her not to worry about the salad or the coffee because there is no meat in them.

Shame we had a bad experience, but the food was good and the place was well maintained. Bathrooms are outside the restaurant and parking is a good size (there is parking in the front and the back). Expect to pay around 50...

Decided to try Shekz for the 1st time. My family and I went to Shezk to celebrate my 29th birthday. My overall experience was just ok, which is pretty disappointing. The service was so slow and the waiter was a bit aggressive. when submitting my order the waiter seem rushed and annoyed that we had questions about the dishes. When we finally got our appetizers the waiter messed mine up (i asked for shrimp dumplings) he brought me spring rolls and he insisted that i order them, which i didnt and my whole table confirmed with the waiter that he made a mistake. The waiter seemed pissed off so i just kept the eggrolls, which werent so great. The dish i ordered was absolutely horrible. I ordered the sizzling seafood platter. there was barely any seafood. It was so fare away from sizzling, it was sour, came in a bowl with a spoon, it was pretty much a soup. i truly regret choosing this place to celebrate my birthday. 1st and last time i will ever go to...

I went there last night to celebrate my birthday with my partner. It took 20-30 min before the host noticed us sitting down, he was polite and personable, nothing negative to say about him, he catered to us well. Music was a bit too loud for my taste. We were in the mood of Asian food. Oddly enough our food was served to us barely 5 min after we placed the order, at first we were glad because we were hungry, but then it felt a bit suspicious. We had sesame beef, vegetable nest, fried rice with chicken and chicken general tao. Both meats were very saucy, sweet and the batter was thick and greasy, the fried rice was good, the nest of the veggies tasted a little rancid, and soy bean sprout were not too fresh. It was an average experience, it's unfortunate we dont have a truly good restaurant to dine in all rdp, I though this was an exception.
