We decided to check this place out next to our regular pick-up place (Punjab Delight) where we get our samosas, pakoras, and desserts. I've travelled all over India previously, and love trying out new Indian restaurants.
The restaurant itself is simple, but feels like what many traditional Indian restaurants have in "atmosphere". They have a TV playing some Indian music/movies (didn't pay attention it was behind me). Most clients appeared to be from India/Pakistan region, which is always a good sign for me.
Our waitress was wonderfully polite and efficient and explained whatever we needed to know - including levels of spice/heat in our dishes. She brought us a water jug upon sitting and promptly gave menus and took our order which consisted of:
Paneer Pakora Balanced amount of batter/paneer, could have used a little more salt on the outside (just how I'm used to it, could be just me)
Onion Bhaji Classic, just how it should be. The two starters were served with a spicy mint sauce, and a sweet tamarind sauce.
Saag Paneer Wow - this one was different than most other places I found. The colour wasn't "green" like most other places, but more of a brown/red - looked different, but the taste was really good. It could have had a little more paneer in it, but well compensated for by the overall taste.
Vegetable Biriyani Very big portion, plenty of taste. A nice side dish. It didn't come with any side "sauce/soup" which I've usually seen elsewhere.
Chicken Korma Very tasty, portion size is okay (served in round style bowls). Quite enjoyed the nuts they put in which I've not always seen.
Fish Curry This was my least favorite - but my girlfriend loved it. I felt the fish fell appart too easily and made it feel like there was little of it vs the sauce. The sauce was nice.
Naan bread Excellent - just how it should be.
Chai Authentic Indian chai - sweet, milky just how I remembered it from my chai wallah back in the day.
Everything arrived quite fast. The owner/chef spoke with us, and was very attentive to our comments/feedback. He cares to make a great restaurant. He caters to large groups as well.

I recently had the pleasure of ordering from Royal Rasoi, and I can’t say enough about both the food and the service. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding.
I was planning a dinner party out of town and needed a menu that could please a variety of tastes—vegetarian and non-vegetarian, spicy lovers and those who prefer milder flavors. Chef Deepak went above and beyond: he personally walked me through the menu, explained the dishes in detail, and helped me curate the perfect combination for my group.
The extra care didn’t stop there. The food was carefully prepared, cooled for transport, and even packed with ice in a cooler they lent me to ensure everything would be perfect for reheating later that evening. That level of thoughtfulness and hospitality is rare and so appreciated.
And then there was the food—absolutely delicious! Each dish was rich with authentic flavors, beautifully balanced, and exactly as recommended. My friends, some of whom are true connoisseurs of Indian cuisine, were thoroughly impressed. Every bite was a hit, and the variety made the meal feel like a true feast.
Between the exceptional service, thoughtful touches, and truly outstanding food, Royal Rasoi has earned my highest recommendation. Whether you’re planning a party or just craving an unforgettable Indian meal, this is the place to go.
A heartfelt thank you to Chef Deepak for his incredible dedication and care—he truly made this experience...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant and liked the decorations and service. Lady at the desk is welcoming and kind and served our food within a short time. No complaints there.
The portion of food is OK, But I honestly did not like the food at all. I tried their veg. dishes only and absolutely worst taste than what it should be near to. To prepare Jeera rice, do you really need that much of oil in it? When someone orders veg. dish, they only want the taste and aroma of veg dish. Paneer tikka masala doesn't taste like the paneer, nor tikka masala. Yes, the style to prepare the dish varies from place to place, but the basic gravy should not change that much. I could taste only tomatoes in the curry which indicates that the basic gravy was not cooked properly. Dal tarka was the only item that tasted near to how it should be.
Not sure about the non veg dishes as I did not try them. But I would not recommend this place for...
