Went here as a small group for our restaurant of the month club and overall give it a 3/5. They called me THREE minutes before our reservation to ask if we could come AN HOUR later. Obviously people were almost there, they finally offered 7:30 instead. There was nowhere to wait other than outside in the cold. The table was ready a few minutes before that and unfortunately we were seated right next to the door so the cold air came in every time someone opened the door and twice we went to fix the mat in the entrance that would block the door and leave it open causing cold air to be blowing in. Only digital menus, but the menu is not optimized for mobile use so it was kind of a pain. Wine was well priced, cocktails were tasty, our waiter did not seem to know that you should allow the person to taste the wine before serving it to everyone. The ceviche was especially interesting with large chunks of fish, the ribeye was served in a container with lit charcoal and the flavour was unique and delicious. The chicken was moist, the shrimp dish was delicious and overall we enjoyed the food, portions were quite large. The service was just ok, they need more staff I think. Water glasses were left empty for awhile, we received our desserts and had to wait at least 10 minutes for the birthday song, as we were celebrating a birthday, so we could eat them. Not sure if I would return, but it was worth going to to try.

This restaurant was recommended to me by many of my Peruvian friends. In general it was a nice experience. I really enjoyed my seafood ceviche. It was just citric enough and the seafood was fresh. However, I wasn't too much of a fan of their fried calamari. They were a little overcooked and were a bit chewy. A friend still liked it and ordered the meal. The restaurant seems small by just looking at the ground floor. But I was surprised to see how big it was on the 2nd floor. There were a lot of large groups for birthday parties. They played the happy birthday song for every single guest that was celebrating their birthday. And it was one after the other. So it was went on for 4-5 consecutive times. It was annoying after a while. I don't remember the name of the dessert, but it was like a little harder version of a doughnut. It was a bit bland. If you've never tried Peruvian food, this is a good option. The prices are fair and they are generous with their portions. The service was bit on the slow side, but understandable due to all the groups they had and the restaurant was packed.

It was okay. I tried a bit of everything and ultimately it comes down to preference, but the fried seafood isn’t the best. The fish that was in the soup was a bit overdone. Also, there are only digital menus available which meant I had to pass along my cell phone because I was with my grand parents who don’t have a smart phone. Once you do have access on the phone, the menus aren’t up to date and the waitress had to let us know what was available. I understand going paperless, but accommodating the elderly would be a good idea. The cocktails are small for the price. I didn’t like the bloody Cesar, but the piña colada was very good.

I have been coming to Sol y Mar for years and it has become one of my favorite restaurants in town. The food is consistently delicious, the service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable.

What really sets Sol y Mar apart is their dedication to authentic Peruvian cuisine. After having a terrible experience at a different Peruvian restaurant, I came to Sol y Mar and was blown away by the quality of the food. Every dish is bursting with flavor and prepared with care. From the ceviche to the arroz con pollo, every dish is a celebration of Peruvian culinary tradition.

One of my favorite dishes is the lomo saltado. The beef is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, and the onions and peppers add a satisfying crunch and sweetness. The dish is served with a side of rice and fries, which is the traditional Peruvian way of serving it. It's always a treat to enjoy this classic Peruvian dish at Sol y Mar.

In addition to the amazing food, the service at Sol y Mar is always friendly and attentive. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. They always make you feel welcome and at home.

The atmosphere at Sol y Mar is also fantastic. The décor is bright and colorful, and the vibe is relaxed and inviting. It's the perfect place to come with friends or family for a casual and delicious meal.

In conclusion, Sol y Mar is a true gem in the world of Peruvian cuisine. I have been here countless times and am always impressed by the quality of the food, the friendly service, and the inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Peruvian...
