Truly Artisanal Ice Cream in Montreal 🍨

This place is a gem! If you’re an ice cream lover looking for quality over quantity and flavor over fluff, Les Givrés in Villeray should be on your list. We tried their mini and multi-scoop sampler bowls – perfect for discovering their wide variety of flavors.

⭐ What We Loved: • Flavors that blew us away: • Poire Vanillée (Vanilla Pear) – so refreshing and lightly floral. • Pistachio – nutty, creamy, and not overly sweet. • Bleuet/Cassis Sorbet (Blueberry/Blackcurrant) – bright, tart, and vibrant! • Unique and adventurous picks: They’re not afraid to get creative — black garlic, ginger, and even Masala Chai (yes, a real chai flavor!) made with bold spices. These are small-batch, chef-inspired creations, and you can really taste the craftsmanship in every scoop. • Vegan & dairy-free options: They have a decent selection of vegan-friendly flavors clearly marked — like the Banarama and Caramel O’cacao. Great if you’re skipping dairy. • Not too sweet: Every flavor we tried tasted natural and not overloaded with sugar — feels like a guilt-free treat (well almost 😉).

🍦 Format & Pricing: • You can choose from mini cups to 3-scoop combos. Prices range from $3.50 to $6.75 (very fair for this quality). • Extras include toppings like brownie, almonds, sauces, or whipped cream. • You can also grab bars, floats, sandwiches, or their signature “Roteux” treat.

🍨 Tip: Get the tasting tray! • It comes with 6 mini scoops, each a different flavor the perfect way to explore their menu.

🪑 Ambience & Location: • There’s a cozy indoor space and a few spots to sit nearby very relaxed vibe. • Street parking is usually available around the corner. Perfect for a short walk.

Highly recommend this spot.

Keep calm and enjoy...

So far i've tried the masala chai takehome pint that i found at LOCO plateau a few days ago. It was incredible for vegan ice cream, tasted like gingerbread cookies but not too sweet and was made with a local supplier of oat milk concentrate called DAM and all healthy ingredients. I stumbled on the Villeray shop today when walking around doing errands. They have 3 vegan flavours , lots reg ice cream and sorbets . I got the quebec camerises and quebec wild blueberries sorbets in a waffle cone which complemented each other really well and was a perfect consistency and balance of flavours and it came in a decent portion for the price

Read the reviews and decided to give Les Givrés a try. Have to say this is the best ice cream I've had in Little Italy. They have a wide variety of excellent flavors.

The pistachio is excellent. Creamy texture with little bits and whole pistachios mixed in. No color added. Perfect. They had a chocolate and a chocolate with chocolate syrup. Also excellent.

The maple, vanilla with caramel, and several of the sorbettos were also delicious.

On top of all that the staff is friendly and extremely patient. Warm smiles and full of information about their product. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The ONLY thing I would change is the wooden samplers and wooden spoons. Takes away from the texture of their product. One of their homemade cones is the perfect solution. Probably one of the best ice cream shops...

Was great but I’d just suggest creating a discount program for ppl who bring their containers to refill since it doesn’t make sense that we pay the same price as a new container if you’re not offering the container and it’s less leak proof. They also let me try the pistachio and the cacao caramel oak milk ice cream and the qc strawberry rhubarb sorbet. Also learned they have a readymade vegan ice cream cake 🎂 so good to know
