Station Mahalo — Restaurant in Montreal

I don’t wanna play the race card, but I must admit I was treated very differently from the other clients. I sat at the shop long enough to notice how others were treated comparatively. Not sure if it’s because of the colour of my skin, or because I brought my baby in a stroller or maybe because I didn’t have the hipster look. 0 stars for customer service. As for the food, the cookies are kept in the open, so the flies come get a taste before you do. The person working there removed a dead fly with tongs they use to serve the cookies lol. I got the vegan cake. It was stale. The black cold coffee was great although the ice ratio was way off.

Edit: as a response to the owner’s comment. I find it strange that you cannot accept that perhaps someone at your cafe dropped the ball with me there. I don’t know you, I don’t have an agenda against you, I also own businesses and work with businesses and accountability and humility are an integral part of customer service. You don’t have to agree with my experience to empathize with it. Calling my critique baseless says more about you than it does about me. I did not want to get into details about my experience ( ie broken plate that you served me with my cake). Taking accountability would have been far more impactful than shifting the narrative. The majority of businesses are owned by people who have families, I’m not sure how that’s relevant to my coffee and cake. I also notice that you get into arguments with people who leave comments that don’t serve a positive purpose for you. Not a big win for a...

I just moved here from Austin and right off the bat felt the amazing hospitality of Montreal at this cafe. The staff who works here during the morning are a gem! I talk to them in a broken french and they take the time to talk back to you in the language and help you learn with atmost patience and love. Very kind and I always feel warm here even on the coldest days.

As for the food and coffee, it's just as spectacular. I get the croissant sandwich with latte and man it's amazing. Just sitting here and sipping on your coffee in the place with amazing natural lights and plants is straight from a movie. It's a corner business so you have the best view for people watching too!

They play a good mix of soul and coffeehouse music that straight up cures depression.

It is always a bit sad to see how places struggle and not don't quite make it on Mt Royal Ave. However, it is nice when someone interesting does move in. While walking by, I stopped in on a whim and picked up a vegan blueberry danish. It lacked for nothing and was absolutely delicious; texture, berry:custard ratio, crust, full flavour with just the right amount of sweetness!
